2020 The Write Reads Blog Tour Round Up

In 2018 The Write Reads was conceived with a Blog of the Day tweet which later morphed into Review of the Day and a Blog of the Day tweets where bloggers big and small were highlighted for the day in order to generate a wider audience. I've found so many new book blogging friends through TWR!

2019 saw the implementation of The Write Reads Blog Tours.  In 2020 the BBNYA was added and everything is just growing by leaps and bounds now. Being a part of this community is awesome! Except for all the books I've discovered which I will never be able to read before I die. I can try though, amirite?

I'd done a Round Up for 2021 then went back and did 2019. Now, here's 2020 for you.

TWR Blog Tours of 2020 brought me 24 books and 17 new-to-me authors. Wow! Kristin Ward and Josie Jaffrey returned with new books. Devri Walls and Kenneth B. Andersen tossed in three each of a series. There are indie authors, small pubbed, and even a couple by bigger publishing houses. Exciting!

The genres are a wide range including:
sci-fi, fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal, YA, horror, contemporary, middle grade, historical, mythology, and suspense with most books combining one or more of the categories.

I know you're all wondering which books are my favorites. Looking back as I did this post so many of them sprang immediately to my mind. So it's nice to know they weren't read and immediately faded into the ether.

I barely touched Middle Grade books until 2020 brought me, not one, but three that I truly enjoyed: The Ship of Shadows, The Beast and the Bethany, and Amari and the Night Brothers.

On the cusp of MG and YA is the series: The Great Devil War. I read book 1 in 2019 and 3 more here. A boy dying and going to Hell sounds very dark and horrifying, but it's really a heart-warming and humorous journey. I highly recommend it.

If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes then do not pass up 5 Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. It's a must read.

Kingshold satifies my craving for Epic Fantasy, May Day brings me vampires and a mystery, Knightmare Arcanist has plenty of magic and a flawed character, and the Venators series is full of intrigue and a parallel universe populated by friends, foes, and tricksy Fae.

Now, go forth and peruse the stacks, my friends, and find a book or 24 that you want to take home.
