Hello and Happy Sunday!
What the hell?! How can it be September already?!
On the Home Front: Went to Ohio on the 22nd with Trip, Anna, and Anna's boyfriend Alex, and had a good visit with mom. Helped my brother clean up two of mom's ash trees that had to be cut down because they'd fallen victim to the Emerald ash borer. They were old trees so that sucked. Plus they were just the latest in several that had to be cut down. :( My oldest brother showed up on the 24th and on the 25th we all (including my oldest son who lives in Ohio) went to Mansfield to visit with mom's last remaining sibling (mom was the youngest of 11) and then check out the Phoenix Brewing Company. If you live in the vicinity you have to check this place out. It's awesome! We headed home on the 27th and it's been a super busy week. Did errands and laundry, worked outside a lot, grocery day sucks, took grandkiddos to the Greensboro Science Center, worked outside some more. Damn, no wonder I'm tired.
In other news, Kyle got his braces off!! He's had them on since the 8th grade and he graduated in June. So, 5 years. He's happy but says his teeth feel weird. LOL Anna still has a little ways to go with her 2nd set of braces (she'll be 21 next month and needed them again due to a wisdom tooth issue-it's a long story) and Trip (19) will most likely be getting his Phase 2 braces next year. It's not super important that he get them, but he may as well while we have the insurance to pay for them.
Touching Nature: Hot, hot, hot. Some rain. Seriously. I'm all for Fall if it means I can have some cooler weather. We worked outside most of Weds and Sat morn. I hate sweat that flows like a river. Ugh.
Book News: Not much going on here. Been busy (and in Ohio) so reading has seriously lagged.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Still chugging along with CSI. Also watching the Indians on the MLB channel through the Roku when they aren't blacked out which has only been a few times.
At the Flicks: Still nothing yet.
Cyberspace Playground: I absolutely love when I see a new True Facts video on Facebook. They literally make my day.
Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: There is nothing that feels better than a shower after being completely engulfed in sweat and dirt. Well, ok. A foot and leg rub right after is a close second. Very close.

It has been hot here, too. I've been reading Jane Austen all month, and now I'm ready to read something else!
ReplyDeleteHappy September!
Ugh, the heat will it ever end? I'm ready for cool weather, changing leaves, and hot cocoa! I'm grabbing Witchnapped in Westerham and also color me intrigued, Monster Porn Monday, eh???
ReplyDeleteHope the weather cools down for you this week. Enjoy your mysteries.
ReplyDeleteSo I actually really love hot weather and am dreading the cold of fall and winter. But I get it, in that how y'all feel about being hot is how I feel about being cold. It also takes a LOT to make me sweaty, because my natural state is cold.
ReplyDeleteWow a family of braces I see! Yes, take care of them while you have the insurance for sure! Too funny about his teeth feeling weird! I guess he got used to those braces LOL!
So glad I'm coming back in time for a Monster porn Monday :) Yay!
Have a great week Carol xoxxo
Great post. Enjoy those pics. I'm with you, when will it cool down? It's been like the longest summer ever in Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hot I can't even stand it. I hate it so much!
ReplyDeleteGlad your trip to see your mom was a good one! I am sure she loved having you all.
Monster Porn I already know the books, I feel like we talked about it before, I am off to check it out.
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox
