--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: School's Out!!!

Touching Nature: I mowed. It was a gorgeous day, too. 78º, sunny, nice breeze. Now it's hotter than Mustafar. Bloody weather.

Book News: I was scrambling to get 800+ pages (3 books) done for InD'tale's upcoming double issue and get the reviews written. Plus, I have interlibrary Sandman graphic novels with deadlines of last Tuesday and today. GAH! When it rains it pours! I apologize for not answering comments or returning visits this week. I will try to get caught up in the coming days.

Don't Touch That Dial!: We managed a few episodes of Supernatural and are now in Season 9 of our rewatch. 2 more episodes and we will finally be into the episodes we've never seen. Woot!

At the Flicks: I don't think we have anything on the agenda until Star Trek Beyond.

Cyberspace Playground: Nothing. I've been reading, reading and more reading.

Randomness: LOLOLOL Thanks, Char for leaving this on my FB wall!

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: If you're stuck doing a job you hate because you need to pay the bills and it'll be awhile before you can do something else, find a hobby you love. Life is short. Don't waste it being miserable. And yes, I consider binge watching your favorite shows on Netflix an enjoyable hobby.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I love your nugget of advice - you're absolutely right. We often can't control what we do to keep food on our plates and a roof over our heads... but we can still keep the passion going by ensuring we really enjoy our free time! Have a great week.

    1. Sometimes we get stuck doing a job that isn't what we wanted, but that doesn't mean we have to be stuck there for life. Set up a plan and work towards it. In the meantime, why be 100% miserable when you don't have to be? :)

  2. All post should have Monty Python &THG references...FOREVER! The movie never gets old.

It was actually cold here during the week, I think the temp went down to 54 at one point. Almost had to turn the heat on when at night it dropped to 40.

Your wisdom is true and that is why I read. :)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!

    1. IKR! LOLOL

It's cool here today! Well, if you can call 80º cool and I do! *jumping up and down* lol

Exactly. Reading and watching my favorite shows on Netflix are cheap ways to entertain myself and I love them. :D

  3. It was pretty hot here so I had to wait until the sun started going down to run out and mow...lol and I was still sweating buckets. :) Now it's raining but still pretty muggy.

    Happy reading!

    1. I need to mow again. Why can't my garden grow like my grass/weeds? Grrrr!

    1. I am so looking forward to a Supernatural marathon. Hopefully soon. I admit I know some things that are coming up, but knowing and actually watching it are two totally different things. :)

  6. I love the randomness. Two great movies mashed together. I wish it were that cool here. It was mid 90s yesterday. Not quite as bad today, but ah, the humidity.

    1. MPatHG is my favorite movie so any time I see it mashed with something else I love it. LOL

It's actually quite pleasant out today. It's a shock to my system after all the heat and humidity. o.O

  7. It's starting to get hotter. Today (with heat index) it was 104. The humidity is killer. Have a great week!

    1. Oh! Ouch! And icky! I hope you get some relief soon. I'd much rather it be cold than hot. When it's hot you can only take off so many clothes before you're naked. At least if it's cold you can keep piling on clothes and blankets. lol
