Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:  Last Sunday I wanted to read and maybe write reviews. Instead I spent time in the kitchen making 2 loaves of banana bread (1 with blueberries and 1 with blueberries and strawberries), 2 pans of brownies, 3 cups of rice in the Instant Pot, and frying 2 cans of spam. Then I put together a whole chicken with carrots and baby red potatoes in the Dutch oven then got it baking in the oven. It was so delicious! I did laundry and cleared out some cubes in the "cat room" (that's what we call the bedroom that has no bed and a bunch of shit I have stored in there, so Jess could use them for her & Ellie's clothes. In between I played Pokémon Go because it was Community Day.

This week was not as busy. I got the mowing done. Grocery pick up on Thursday. A general contractor came to go over the renovation plans. He said give him about 3 weeks to work up an estimate. Kyle took off Thursday and Friday since he has Monday off giving him a 5 day weekend. :D Yesterday we took Kyle's car to get 2 tires mounted, so we ate at Pano's for the 3rd week in a row. Yum. lol Grandkiddo Oliver turned 4 on the 23rd.

Got a bunch of appointments this coming week. I'm tired just thinking about it.

Touching Nature: We had over a foot of rain in 2 weeks. Compared to that this past week has been fairly dry. A couple of nice days then hot and humid. Gross. I managed to mow before it got too hot.

Book News: Finished a couple of books. I still need to write a bunch of reviews.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Still watching The Mentalist and a few Supernatural.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  This is some grade A truth.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: As much as revenge sounds good, I'm not stooping to their level. If they are the devil then that's a them problem, not a me problem.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Definitely sounds like it would be awesome to hang out with you, because I could use some brownies right about now. :D We also got an instant pot last year, but still haven't used it... (very Asian of us not to use something until we REALLY need it lol). And belated happy birthday to Oliver! <3

    1. LOL My eldest spawn bought me my Instant Pot and I didn't use it for something like a year. Eek. But now I use it all the time. :D

  2. I*'ve been doing lots of cooking and appts and I was exhausted by Saturday. This week isn't so packed thankfully. I still have so many projects I want to do. I'm looking forward to the better weather when the wind comes from the north in a couple days with lower humidity. I hope it lasts at least 5 days.
