Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:  Last Sunday was my first Mother's Day without mom. It was bittersweet. I spent the day reading and eating leftovers. I opened presents before husband had to go to work. My eldest spawn called and we talked for about an hour. It was a gorgeous day though the pollen was flying around like crazy.

I spent a lot of time working on my blog and reading this week. Thursday was the usual grocery pick up at Walmart and I got some stuff for the furries and my critters with a TSC pick up. Then we went to BJ's for a few things and swung by Freddy's to try their new Freddy's Frosts. We did Orange Cream this week (pretty tasty), so next Thursday we'll try Lemon.

Friday I had a Pack Rat storage container dropped off so we can get a few things out of the house and Jess can empty out her storage units. She has 3 and wants to sell most of the stuff, so she can sort and sell from here. Next step is to actually get everything here. Also, the grandkiddos came for a sleepover.

Saturday we took husband's CR-V to the shop where his son works so he could mount the tires. We all went so we could have breakfast at Pano's. They were super busy and us having 10 people didn't help. We all finally managed to get in though we were scattered. The place is small though. Trip and Kyle took the tiny booth (it's literally half of a booth lol), Anna, Jess, Ellie, Kyleigh and I had a booth, and husband, Boone, and Oliver had a booth. Then everyone except Kyle and I went to the park before the grandkiddos had to go home. Kyle and I did the Saturday cleaning and just as I finished up, it poured. Like, torrentially. The driveway is completely FUBAR. We do not need any more fucking rain! For fucks sake! It's not supposed to rain tomorrow, so husband will hook up the box scraper and fix the driveway.

I'm doing up this post on Saturday evening, so tomorrow I hope to write up some reviews and read before making a whole chicken with carrots, baby red potatoes, and onion in the Dutch oven for dinner.

Touching Nature: Rain, rain, rain. A bit cooler but then a day or two of 80º and humid. Then more rain. We had 5" the week before, but then this week we got 4" just on Tuesday. Then .50" Weds, .25" Thurs, 2" Friday and 4" (and counting) Saturday.

Book News: Got some reading done. Finally. Even wrote a couple of reviews. But now have more to write. The Neverending Cycle of Review Writing.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Still rewatching The Mentalist.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  I feel like I need me one of these.

  1. What an eventful week! Having crazy rain RIGHT AFTER cleaning up must have been the worst. T_T I hope you get the chance to rest up this week. :)

  3. For us it's more like they say it's going to rain every day but it doesn't always rain. But now we are supposed to be clear until late in the week. Glad your Mother's Day was a bit of a break.

  4. It's been really rainy this spring. We've had some glorious sunny days, but I think it has rained more than it hasn't. This week looks drier... but also hotter, darn it. I'm not ready for highs in the 80s. (Who am I kidding -- I'm never ready for highs in the 80s.) Anyway, I hope you get a break in the rain so you can get the driveway sorted out.
