Hello and Happy Sunday!

My first Mother’s Day without mom. 💔

On the Home Front:  Busy, busy, but not as busy as last week. Jess and her daughter Ellie moved in. They'll be staying awhile. Jess is buying an old RV that needs a lot of work. It was dropped off the week before and we needed to move some things outside to make a spot for it. Then we had to work on Anna's room to make room for Jess and Ellie to sleep in Anna's top bunkbed. Anna had it literally overflowing with Squishmallows. That was what I was too tired to write about last Sunday. Shifting and moving stuff because I still have furniture and boxes of stuff from mom's that I can't do anything with until we work on the house next year. Speaking of that...

We picked up the architectural plans this week. He's going to work on the garage plans next. I called and have a contractor coming on the 23rd to give us an estimate for how much everything will cost. I'm anxious because I know it's going to be a high number. But will it be too high? Guess we'll find out.

I bought 10 tires online from Walmart and had them delivered to the house. 4 for my Pilot, 4 for husband's CR-V, and 2 for Kyle's Civic. They came over 3 days, my Pilot's on Friday. My stepson, Tim, works at a garage so he mounted my tires for free yesterday. Thank goodness. I had a huge fucking bolt in a back tire that blew out on the highway when husband tried to take it to Tim last week for repair - it was a whole fucking mess. Anyway, it's had the spare on it so I haven't been driving it. I can't tell you how glad I am to have my Pilot back. Woot! Bonus, that we all had breakfast at the diner next door. We love Pano's. This coming Saturday Tim will do his dad's tires then the Saturday after that will be Kyle's turn.

Tuesday the Turd Burglar (septic pumper) came out to pump the septic tank. It's been nearly 4 years and we have 5 people living here. It was pretty full. I can't wait to get bidets for the house so we don't have to deal with so much toilet paper.

Thursday was the usual grocery pick up, but I had to do it in the CR-V. And then I accidentally picked the wrong Walmart when I did the order because it got switched when I was shopping for tires. So I had to drive all the fuck away across town to pick up before my time expired. Dammit! Other than that, the rest of the week has been hectic, but not as bad as the week prior.

I'm hoping to schedule a POD or Pack Rat storage container soonish to put some things in and Jess and I will split the cost as she needs to empty out her storage units. It'll have to go where Kyle parks his car and I'll have to move the trailer to park his Civic. More moving and shifting outside, but easy enough to do.

Touching Nature: Rain, rain, rain. For fuck's sake! We do NOT need more fucking rain. Supposed to be super gorgeous this week though, 70s/50s and sunny. Yesterday was beautiful. Got the mowing done Friday. That made two weeks since the last mowing. It's been too wet. Right after I finished and was getting ready to shower, it poured. Again. But at least it didn't last long.

Book News: Didn't get much reading done, but did knock out a few older reviews that needed writing. Still have something like 8? Or so.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Still watching The Mentalist, but that was it this week.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes you just have to say, "Fuck this shit."

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. It belongs to Jess and needs a lot of work. I'd never be able to leave (too many responsibilities) though I'd go in a second if I could. lol

  2. Somehow I missed the introduction of Jess and Ellie and I don't know who they are, but that is nice that they can stay with you while the RV is being renovated.

Glad you got your Pilot back and that you got to eat at Panos!

I always worried about that, when placing my Walmart pickup orders in Arkansas, because the other Walmarts would take me over an hour to drive to, if I were to select the wrong one.

    1. Jess is Anna's best friend and Anna is Ellie's godmother. Jess is going through a nasty divorce and has no money so they are staying here. It's very cramped. lol

That would be a royal pain! At least the one I accidentally picked was across town. I made triple sure this week that I had the correct one picked.

  4. Haha, I love the random. I kind of feel the same way about the rain. It's been raining so much that the mosquitos think they own the world. They eat me alive at work.
