Hello and Happy Sunday!
Please enjoy the 501st Legion and my favorite Clone Trooper (probably my favorite Star Wars character period) Captain Rex for my 501st Sunday Post.

On the Home Front:
- Sunday - I wanted to rest, but I had too much to do. Many loads of laundry, made sausage, gravy, biscuits for lunch, whipped up a Texas sheetcake, boiled eggs in the Instant Pot, did a million dishes, and various other shit. Whew! Hubby put up the new blinds and blackout curtains for our bedroom since he has to sleep during the day. Kyle grilled steaks and I made baked potatoes.
- Monday - Wrote reviews and scheduled posts for the blog. Hubby worked. Leftovers for dinner.
- Tuesday - Happy 4th of July! Worked on the blog. Hubby worked. Can't hate triple time for holiday pay. Made eggs and sausage links for dinner.
- Wednesday - After hubby got up he and Trip picked up the grandkiddos for a sleepover. When it got dark we did a small box of fireworks and they enjoyed them.
- Thursday - Grocery pick up. Grandkiddos went home and Trip and I took the dogs to meet the possible foster dog, Scrappy, who was abandoned at the vet where Anna works. Made chicken and dumplings for dinner.
- Friday - After taking Kyle to work Anna called me to say she spotted a stray dog just down the road. Since I was just coming up on where she was, I stopped and sent her on to work. Animal Control wasn't open yet (I found out later the shelter is full anyway) I got out and coaxed the poor baby into the car and took her home. She's staying in the outside kennel because she and our dogs got into it with a lot of barking, snarling, and growling. Plus, I have no idea what vaccines she's had or not and flea and tick prevention. She does look well cared for though. I've been searching online, but haven't found her owners. She wasn't chipped (I took her to our vet to check) and has no collar making me think she was dumped. She's young, probably under a year old. Sweet, but we can't keep her. I've made her as comfortable as I can out in the kennel (doggie pool, fan {outside the kennel}, toys, and a doghouse. If I don't find her owner(s) or someone to take her she'll need to be surrendered to the shelter, full or not. I do not have the time or energy to deal with a pup who needs lots of training and stresses my dogs out. So, I was super busy but didn't get half the stuff done I had planned to do. Hubby worked. Kyle bought Subway sammies for dinner.
- Saturday - Finished the cleaning, took care of the stray we are now calling Lottie, short for Charlotte which is related to the location where we found her. Did some blog work in between all this. Thunderstormed. Lottie does not appear to be bothered by thunder. Hubby worked. We had leftovers for dinner. Still doing internet sleuthing to find Lottie's owner.
- Today - Rest and read I hope! After I take care of the furries including Lottie. I plan on making Mississippi Pot Roast for dinner. Hubby will be working.
Mom's week: I forgot to mention last week that mom got tired of her hair falling out and into her eyes, her mouth, the sink, everywhere, so she went and got it shaved off. My oldest bro was there the weekend thought the 5th. She was feeling very bleh (chemo and the 5th anniversary of dads death on the 4th), but the small family picnic my brother held on Sunday cheered her up. She had chemo infusion on Weds and found out her oncologist is having to switch hospitals so she'll be getting a new doc after the 17th. Ugh. She has a CT scan scheduled for the end of the month so let's hope for improvement. She was down 2.9 lbs this past week and her bloodwork showed her a bit low on protein. The doc said she should be able to eat scrambled eggs if she does them fine enough and keeps them moist. So she used a lot of butter and some bacon grease to scramble them up fine. Then she cooked another egg over easy, cut the yolk out and mixed that with the 1st egg. She said it was tasty and seemed to go down well and stay down. So yay! "Real food", not puréed, and extra protein. She's also been making variations of the smoothies we did when I was there. Hopefully no more weight loss for this upcoming Weds appt. He did prescribe a mild steroid to help with the post 3-day-after-chemo crash in energy. She is now taking a whole pharmacy of drugs. Or it seems like it anyway. I talked with her yesterday and she was feeling fine, no crash in energy, so hopefully the steroid is doing its job.
Touching Nature: It's gross out. Hot and humid. That's all I have to say. Actually, no. I want to say, Fuck you climate deniers.

Wow go you on getting all your reviews written. My daughter watches all that about the shelters and wishes we could take in another dog but we have enough with one dog. I hate that your mom has to have a new doc but glad she is able to eat better. If July and August didn't happen, the weather here would be great. The tomatoes, green beans and basil seem to love this weather though.
