Hello and Happy Sunday!

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!!

On the Home Front: I haven't really done much this week. The week between Christmas and New Year is always so...limbo. Like I'm a corn kernel in the ass end of the current year waiting to be shit out into the next year.

Anyway, the Christmas stuff is put away. Except for the outside lights because it's been a bit rainy a couple of days, so Trip will probably take those down this week at some point. I like the lights and since it's dark at night it makes it light outside to take the dogs out in the evening which Anna likes. lol

Friday, hubby and Kyle had to get up at 3:30am to go in to work by 5:00 so I decided to get my usual Saturday cleaning done as well as the first weekend of the month stuff I usually do ahead of schedule. I also did some tidying of the kitchen and the closet, did several loads of laundry, washed the dog bed covers, made a Hello Fresh meal for lunch, and well, a fuckton of shit. But that freed up my weekend to be lazy, so win-win. Tomorrow, it's back to the usual grind of adulting. Oh, yay.

Touching Nature: Been so warm my daffodils are popping up out of the ground and one even bloomed WTAF?!?! NOOOOO! Stahp!! Tonight and for then next little while it's supposed to drop below freezing at night so I guess I need to cover them up so they don't get fucked. Again. Because this exact shit happened last year, but in the beginning of February. Not fucking January 1st. FFS

Book News: I still have 11 reviews to write, but hope to knock a few of those out this coming week. Maybe, just maybe, I could get them all done? Stop laughing. It could happen.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Hubby and I finally finished Star Wars: Rebels, so Rogue One is next. We're (hubby, Trip, Kyle & I) hoping to watch The Witcher soon and then there's The Book of Boba Fett. Trip and I want to watch the Marvel shows we haven't watched yet and then get back to our Marvel movie rewatch.

At the Flicks: Saw Spider-Man: No Way Home last Sunday. Great movie. Need to see what's coming out this year.

Cyberspace Playground: Nope.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Be like plants.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  2. 3:30? 5? We might be going to bed around then. Thankfully we can set our own schedule as long as we get things done on time. Yay, my iris are blooming. I also have lettuce and broccoli going well in the garden and snow peas. I'm only worried about the lettuce though. I'm going to try to relax a bit the next couple weeks but I have things I want to do so we'll see how that goes. Happy New Year Carol!

  3. Yay for getting a bunch done so that you could relax over the weekend! I hope it was a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Sorry about your flowers, that sucks. I know my plant situation has been all screwy last year and I think this year is also not looking great based on their current confused state. We were in the 80s like a week ago and today we're in the 20s. WTF?!

Anyway, I hope you're having a great start to 2022!!
