Hello and Happy Sunday!

Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!!

On the Home Front: Busy lead up to Christmas. We had the grandkiddos Thurs night for a sleepover and gave them their presents.  I always make our Christmas meal on Christmas Eve and we eat leftovers for Christmas Day. I have to say, I'm getting sick of Christmas. Next year I'm buying gift cards for everyone and they can just go buy themselves shit. Shop, shop, shop, wrap, wrap, wrap, and then have pissy people opening gifts. I can't ever do anything right and apparently money grows on fucking trees. Whatthefuckever. I'm done. Fuck this so-called holiday. At least the grandkids were happy with their gifts.

This is the last week of the year.  I need to do some blog posts wrap ups. I'm so over 2021 and 2022 doesn't look like it's going to be any better. I read 67 books this year. That is fucking abysmal for me. Might also be one of the reasons I hate everything. But in other news, that means my re-re-revised number of 65 has been reached in my Goodreads Challenge.

So 2021 can kiss my glowing white fat ass.

Touching Nature: Chilly at night, warmish during the day. Yuck. We did get some rain that we really needed. Hubby took the grandkiddos for rides on the new tractor and he played on it for a bit on Christmas Eve afternoon. And by played, I mean he was digging out more stumps.

Book News: Have 9 reviews to write now that I could add the 3 books I read for the BBNYA. I also need to do my year end wrap up blog posts. Eek! I got 4 books for Christmas off my wishlist. Yay!

Don't Touch That Dial!: Nothing

At The Flicks: Haven't seen Eternals yet, but going to see Spider-Man: No Way Home today.

Cyberspace Playground: Nope.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: No matter what you do it's never good enough. And apparently money grows on trees. Literally.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I hate shopping for gifts and I hate wrapping gifts. It's just me and the 94-yo and she cannot unwrap gifts by herself so I would have to not only wrap all the gifts but unwrap them as well. What would be the point????? I asked her if she cared if the gifts were wrapped or not. She said no and that she always hated wrapping gifts too. So, I just piled all the Amazon boxes up under the tree and there they sat until Christmas morning when I got out the box cutter and opened them up and broke them down immediately after. Christmas. Over and done. See you next year. lol

  2. I bought stuff as I saw things she would love but didn't really need during the year and that is enough. My daughter has always been very happy with her gifts but then she gets other things she wants when she needs or wants them. I'm glad the grandkids were happy and you had time with them. I planned to make all kinds of treats but we can't eat them all so I'm making things one at a time over a few weeks. The leaves have finally all fallen so I have to go get them out of the yard while it's in the 70s today. Happy New Year!
