Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: While the treasonous shitshow in DC is the star of the week, there was not much going on at home. Two grocery pick ups as I try to get back on a Friday schedule for that. A nail trim for Artemis in which we gave her, I guess, the equivalent to doggy Valium to calm her. It worked pretty good. A regular psych appt for Trip. 3 CVS trips to pick up multiple scripts. And one of the long-term pharmacists has just made my life a ton easier by making me caregiver for everyone I pick up for. Now when I go I only need to give my name and birthdate and everyone's shit pops up. For fuck's sake! Where has this option been for the last 5 yrs as I picked up everyones meds?! Ok, I guess we could just get them delivered but then I'd still need to stop in once in awhile to get my Raisinets fix. Hubby had to work yesterday 12-6 so Trip and I picked up the grandkiddos for a sleepover. They'll need to go home by lunchtime today so I can cut hubby's hair, he can shave, and we get him all packed up and ready to fly. Then it'll be an early bedtime.

Which leads me to: hubby went to his work meeting on Weds to get the Iowa trip details. He leaves tomorrow morning at 7am. From the Raleigh airport. So, I guess we'll be getting up really early as we live nearly an hour away and he has to be there 2 hrs before the flight leaves. Monday is going to suck. He'll be gone 4 weeks. Don't worry about me. It's not like I live alone. I have Anna, Trip, and Kyle and Alex is moving in. Not to mention 3 dogs and 3 cats. lol Anyway, hubby will come home for a week in February then head back for 3 weeks, home a week, then back for 3 weeks. I think he said there are 7 people going. Did I mention the company he works for is fucking huge? I'm talking global and they have their own travel agency within the company. Wow. Anyway, we are not frequent flyers so we had to review airport security protocols for what he can carry on. I'll probably end up sending him a care box to the hotel with stuff for his lunchbox, snacks, and meal prep, so he won't have to do much grocery shopping. One of the women said she's going to buy a small crockpot for her room which is actually a pretty good idea. She can ask the hotel to hold it for her on the weeks that they come home. They do get a generous daily food per diem, but he'll most likely eat in his room and pack his lunch as he does here. He said, who's going to pack my lunch and do my laundry? Um, you? LOL I'm teasing. He knows how to do his own laundry and pack his lunch. Marine, remember? But he hasn't had to do it himself in a loooooong time. Should be an interesting 4 weeks. Then 3. Then 3. lol
Touching Nature: Typical for January in NC, chilly, rainy, sunny. We did get some "snow" though. I say "snow" because while this is huge for NC, to someone like me, born and raised in Ohio, this was absolutely nothing. *shrugs*
Book News: I've still only completed 1 book for the year and I still have 3 reviews to write. I need to finish a book for a tour review on Tuesday and I was hoping to finish some Monster Porn for a Monster Porn Monday review, but I haven't finished and there's been no monster in the porn yet. Which is bullshit. I'm beginning to think calling the book Monstrous Lust is not going to be literal sex with monsters. I swear to fuck I'm going to write my own monster porn.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I continue our Star Wars rewatch with Rebels. We finished Season 3.
At the Flicks: Nope, but Trip and Kyle saw Monster Hunter. Only 1 other person was in their theater.
Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Monster Porn with no monsters is stupid. YES I FEEL LIKE YOU SHOULD BE WRITING A MONSTER PORN! (I yelled that)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if I would be happy my husband would be away or sad or both. At the moment I could use a couple weeks away since I am not made for sitting in the house 24 hours a day. I might go crazy!
Now I want to read Monster Porn...
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!xx
Yup it's crazy all happening in DC and the US in general. Hope things get better soon. Happy trip to hubby. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm disgusted by the events on Capitol Hill. I hope there are consequences to discourage future sedition. I'm thrilled by Georgia but I hope it doesn't make the voters think Biden will have everything his way. There is SO much to clean up. I hope the work trip goes well.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I'm going to yell at you with Michelle- YES, YOU NEED TO WRITE MONSTER PORN!
ReplyDeleteTalk about a shit show, huh? And, as predicted, it just keeps getting worse.
Ugh I hope your day went well today with the early trip to the airport and all. 4 weeks is a long time! Wow! I'm glad you're not alone though :) Have a great week!
Wow that's a lot of travel! I hope you got to enjoy the 'snow' of NC!
