--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

How is it September already?!

On the Home Front: I was busy, busy this week. I feel like I did a lot and yet nothing got done. I hate days/weeks like that.

Hubby finally got his login on Thursday, 2nd shift. I tried it Friday morning and it said successfully logged in but access denied. Possibly because we're logging in from home. So, HR needs to do something on their end and, of course, it's a holiday weekend and literally everyone in HR was gone Friday and won't be back until Tues or in the case of the guy actually in charge of HR, Weds. So, I still don't have access to get the insurance, 401k, and direct deposit done and it's likely another week will go by before I can do anything. Extremely frustrating. However, hubby is enjoying the job and learning everything he can. Plus, they had a meeting on Thursday and a tour of the new expansion (with catered lunch/dinner) and handed out 6 shirts for everyone. They want everyone to wear the company shirts for Team Unity. Hubby's just glad he doesn't have to pick clothes to wear each morning. Company shirt and his black cargo pants. Easy. LOL He had today off and will be off Monday. With the nice weather we're hoping to get some outside work done before he recommences work on Tuesday afternoon and ahead of the forecasted rain for Weds.

We had the grandkiddos for a sleepover last night. They helped a bit outside yesterday. And by help, I mean they had rides on the tractor and threw wood onto my brush fire. Then Kyleigh relocated some really big fat worms for me over to my raised bed. She loved that job. Girl hates spiders but loves worms. lol I made cookies as payment for services rendered.

Touching Nature: It was in the 90s and we got a bit of rain, but then it cooled to the 80s yesterday. It looks like we may be done with the 90s now. Yay! It was also dry for a few days, so I managed to get the lawn mowed and some brush burned yesterday. Double Yay! Hubby took down some of the fencing we had up to keep the deer away from our veggies. Most everything has quit producing. We still have some peppers and cherry tomatoes going strong and one lone cantaloupe. Trying to tidy up so we can build a garden shed soon.

Book News: I managed to write a couple reviews and I started reading a book. Yay! Progress.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Some Buffy/Angel and the Cleveland Indians. That's it.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: I found a free puzzle app for my iPad and now I'm obsessed. I play every evening while I watch the Cleveland Indians. Puzzles are good for the brain, right? I wonder if putting them together on the iPad is good, too. Hmmmm...

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: ^^^ You should maybe finish a goal before starting another? Well, it depends on the goal. Only you can know. Just don't get seduced from an important goal by a bright, shiny, fly-by-night goal.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I hate/ weeks like that where it feels like you did a lot and got nothing done. That's frustrating you still don't have access to your insurance and such. That's good to hear your hubby is enjoying his job. I hope you'll have a great week!

  2. Ugh that's such an annoying feeling - knowing you were busy but not knowing what you did. Bummer about all the HR stuff - hopefully you'll be able to get it squared away this week. Yay fort he uniforms making life easy. I found out this week that when I actually start working on the office, I can wear scrubs. Not sure if I want to, but it's for some definite pluses.

Yay for reviews and reading! Any writing on that book? 🤔 You thought if forgot huh? Nope!!!

    Have a great week!

  4. yes no matter how busy I am or how much I do or how many books I read I don't feel like I did enough. Like you I loved the drop to the 80s for this long weekend which allowed me to mow and do other yard stuff. Enjoy this lower humidity and cooler temps! I'm getting ready for my fall planting of spinach, lettuce and broccoli.
