--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: It was a busy week with appointments. With hubby working 1st shift this week and needing to get up at 5:45 it's also been a tiring one. Thank goodness he starts 2nd tomorrow. The job is going well. The company is building an extension so they are hiring even more people. He can work as much overtime as he wants, but no one can work more than 12 hrs in a day. Benefits started on day one which is cool. What's not cool is we're not enrolled yet because hubby hasn't gotten his login to the portal. It's a very large company and everything is done step by step. We're just waiting on HR to send the email and I can get the insurance, 401k, and direct deposit info done. It's annoying, but liveable.

It's hard to believe that August is nearly over which means 2020 is nearly 67% percent uploaded. Can we just eject the flash drive before it's safe and start again?

That's it for me. I'm hoping for a more well-rested week ahead.

Touching Nature: Hot. I'm so sick of the fucking heat. I managed to get the lawn mowed. Too bad I couldn't sweat off about 10 actual pounds. It only felt like it. Sweat-soaked sports bras are just gross.

Book News: Still haven't read anything, but I managed to write a few reviews.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Buffy/Angel, finished season 4 and 1, Perry Mason, and the Indians.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Never give up - on yourself, your dreams, or the people you care about.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I'm glad his job is going well and that he wont have to wake so early starting tomorrow! Annoying about the insurance but at least you'll be covered soon!

LOL at the days in 2020. Yeah it's fucking long already and we're not done yet. I'm just hoping for a much better 2021.

    Have a great week!

    1. We're actually already covered, but I have no info about it. Meaning I have no insurance card with the pertinent group # ect. Which is ultra annoying. I should have it this week though.

      Amen to a better 2021.

  2. I’m glad your husband’s job is going well. Hopefully you get the login stuff soon. Also, LOL about the sweat-soaked sports bra. I’ve been waking up at 5 in the morning so I can get things done before it’s disgustingly hot outside. Have a great week!

    1. I hope so too! I need this info like yesterday so I can get appts scheduled and get drug prescriptions switched over. SIGH

Oh, it is so gross. I had planned to get up early on SAt and do all the stuff outside then saw the forecast had changed whcih fucked my plans. And so out there I was in the gross heat mowing. Gah

  3. Lol , I still use that days in the month ditty sometimes, now it’s going to make me laugh every time because I’ll think of that ending for 2020 :)
Sounds like hubby should get you a ride on lawn mower now he’s got plenty of steady work :)

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. I use it, too! LOL

We don't have enough lawn for a rider or I would have had one a long time ago. LOL My oldest son said his younger brothers should be out there mowing for me, but I enjoy it (when it's not a million degrees) and it's the only real exercise I get during the week. lol So I'm going to have the boys do the weed eating instead. Hubby usually does it but now he's going to be working more and I don't like doing it. lol

  4. Yes it was hot and no rain. Today was the first niceish day with wind from the north. I don't think any kind of bra is great when you are sweating that way. I pretty much have to shower after I mow the lawn in July or August. I'm glad it sounds like the new job is going well. 2nd shift would be much better with our current style.

    1. The NC weather doesn't really know what it wants to do does it? Rain yesterday and dreary today. I really have brush I've needed to burn since May, but it's either been hotter than Satan's asshole and I wasn't going to be out there contributing to the heat (and melting) or it's been nothing but rain. maybe towards the end of this week I can get some of it gone.

Yeah, he worked for about 18 yrs on 2nd (the rest of his time there was a 4 shift alignment), so we're used to that schedule. Just need to get back into the groove.
