--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: We had no damage from Florence and while we got a fuckton of rain we had no flooding here at the homestead. Our only casualty was our Honda Accord that has a trim piece on the passenger side window that doesn't fit properly so it got a bit wet inside the car. Which I didn't know until I went to take Snowy to the vet on Wednesday and the inside was mildew city. Gah! Luckily, it was a hot, sunny day so I opened everything that could be opened and let it dry. Then I took bleach water and wiped everything down. I need to vacuum it, but I think it's ok now. I seriously need to replace that piece, but it's never really been an issue. I guess all that rain for 3 days was too much for it. I'd love to replace the Accord, but it runs and it's my back up vehicle. I also take the animals to the vet in it because it's a shitty vehicle that I don't have to worry about dog nails, slobber, or anything. Plus, it sits low to the ground so old lady Snowy can get in it pretty easy. Speaking of cars...

I'm car hunting. Again. Anna's 2001 Nissan Maxima needs an O2 sensor that we are not willing to replace considering it'll be close to $1000. And we have to replace it to have it pass inspection. No pass, no tags. Way to go, Nissan. What a crock of shit. The car has nearly 200,000 miles on it and we just replaced the alternator, but I'm not dumping anymore money into a potential money pit. Even if we replace that sensor there is NO guarantee it will pass inspection. AND, even if that sensor is fixed all the other sensors (and there's a lot on this model, again WTF Nissan) are old as fuck and will most likely then be out of sync with the brand new one. So more sensors would need replaced. See what I'm saying about a potential money pit? If we had our own garage we'd just pull it in and attempt to fix it ourselves. But we don't so, a'hunting I will go. I'm focused on looking for a Honda for her. Maybe a Toyota. No more Nissans and definitely no Hyundais.

Touching Nature: We finally dried out enough from Florence for me to mow yesterday. Temps have been upper 80s and humid. Ugh. A front came through last night and while it didn't rain hardly at all (yay!) it did cool things down. It may be cloudy and dreary looking but at least it's only in the upper 60s and so much less humid. Woot!

Book News: I had 12 reviews to write. I whittled that down to 5 and then hit a roadblock. But 5 is better than 12, right?

Don't Touch That Dial!: Been watching the Indians and Trip & I started Season 5 of Agents of SHIELD on an Indians off day. But they've been playing daily since so we haven't progressed past episode 4. I'm not liking this season and I see Daisy is still a moron. At least Coulson is still funny and May is a badass.

At the Flicks: The kids went to see Predator and I didn't have to take them. Yay!

Cyberspace Playground: Nothing.

Randomness: I want these.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I got put in Twitter jail for 12 hrs for posting a not so nice post to Ann Coulter. I've never been in Twitter jail. Even though I had to delete it to get out I enjoyed typing it. Because she's a piece of shit. Twitter needs some work though. What I said in my tweet is nowhere near as bad as some shit I've seen on there. So fuck you, Twitter. So, sometimes being a rebel and/or bitch works, sometimes it doesn't.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. I'd like it to be in the 70s during the day and 50s at night. That would be perfect. lol

I violated their murky terms of service though I've seen much much worse on there. Assholes. Anyway, glad I'm out. I have book stuff to blog about. lol

    1. I'll take cooler over hotter any day of the week. Or year. Or my lifetime. Heat and I do not get along. At least in the winter you can add layers, blankets, a fire (in the fireplace!), but when you're hot you can only get so naked. lolol

  3. Glad Florence wasn't so bad and the cooler weather comes your way. I need cooler weather and more heat and I might actually cry.

Car shopping sucks, so good luck with that. :)

I don't even want to talk about reviews. I have two I need to write and I haven't but I have too.

AHAHAHA! Twitter Jail! She is an ass, I think being in Jail was probably worth it! :)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!

  4. Hopped on to your blog after a loooong time and am glad I did! I had a huge smile (like showing all my front teeth huge) while reading this! I love you already!

My father has always preferred Toyota and Chevrolet in cars. Though whatever you said about the problems of the car was latin to me, I would still suggest going for Toyota!

    1. So glad you enjoyed it! :)

I'll pass on the Chevy line, but I could be persuaded to get a Camry maybe. If the price and mileage is right.
