AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday! First off, I can't believe I'm still up and it's after midnight. I'm so far behind on various things that as I was drafting my post (and realizing I had a shitload of books) I figured I'd finish it up and post tonight instead of when I get up. Now, I can sleep in. There was much rejoicing. :D

So, the SuperBowl was a disappointment and so were the commercials. Ah, well. They can't be awesome every year. The memes, on the other hand, were just hilarious.

The weather has been fairly steady, but I see snow in the forecast for mid-week. Oh. Joy. Down here  in NC that means

Finally got four new tires for the van. They were really, really bad. Very bald. And it just might be my imagination, but I swear when I drive it now I feel like I went from
To
Like I said, probably just my imagination. *winks*

I'm plugging along like the Little Reader Who Could, the kids started a new semester and the grandbaby countdown continues.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
Shelf Additions
Holy Smokes! I had no idea I had so many until I started adding them.

Hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

  1. Yeah we got bored w/ the Super Bowl too. It was pretty obvious who was going to win so we eventually turned it off. Good luck with the snow, hope it's not too bad...

    1. It was frustrating. We didn't care about either team, but it would have been nice to have a close game.

*fingers crossed* about the snow. And thanks! :)

  3. That was hilarious what you said about new tires!! The super bowl totally sucked. Broncos are my team so that made it even worse. YUCK! I can't believe I am up till midnight either. Today was boring as hell and I should've went to bed early. But yet... then blogging calls my name!!

  4. Hehe, I think we are going the other way. We have a truck and have been car shopping and want a car. They sit sooo low compared to our truck. lol Enjoy the new books.

    1. We have a minivan and an Accord. The Accord sits so low to the ground. I can imagine how much weirder it would be if we had a truck. lol

      Thanks! :)

  6. Everyone seems to have a huge book haul this week, wow, now only need to tell us where we can purchase the time for reading. I've seen The Fly House on another blog, so that is certainly a popular one.

    1. Oh, wow! Wouldn't that be great? Purchasing time for reading? I'd be the first in line assuming it wasn't too expensive. lol

  8. We got new tires on our SUV and it felt really high, we found out the guy put bigger tires on then we had before so it's like driving a monster truck and I'll only 5 foot and I have to make sure I don't break a leg getting out :)
You did get a lot of books! Good for you :) I hope you enjoy them all!!!
    Happy Reading!!!

  9. The weather is so awful all around the country - I am so sick of all the snow and negative temps, but I am sure snow in NC is worse because people don't know how to drive in it! I am going to check out The Fly House, I love that cover!
    Happy Sunday :)

    1. They really don't and there aren't enough road crews to keep up if we get a significant amount. Can only hope it won't be much. :)

      Thanks! Have a great week!

  11. Ah midnight, unforutnately I often see that time on my clock as I'm rarely in bed before it. Probably explains why I'm so tired. ;-) Anyway, nice haul once again. Enjoy your week.

  15. Lol, I totally understand the snow thing...I'm in GA and it feels like everyone looses their minds when someone mentions the possibility of snow. Though I guess after the last time I can understand why...The superbowl really did suck and I'm not just saying that because I don't like football...so boring and only like 2 so-so commercials. I hope you enjoy your new books and your week!

    1. The South just isn't equipped to handle the white stuff. Snow, that is. And now that storm looks to be shaping up quite nicely. I hope we get dumped on for once. We haven't had a good dump in years. Uh...hmmmm...that didn't sound quite right. We don't need Exlax or more fiber or anything. LOL

  16. LMAO at the new tires pics - I know exactly what you mean though. The smallest thing can make a big difference. And you weren't kidding - that's a fantastic haul! Enjoy them - I look forward to seeing some of these on Wicked Wednesdays :)
