AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday! Here it is Sunday Brunchtime and I'm still drafting this post. I have just been busy reading and not getting enough sleep and this post being later than I like is the result. I usually try to have it all done up with a bow by Saturday evening. Ah, well.
I've been thinking of doing a March Indie feature. I know the Ides of March are forever associated with the assination of Julius Caesar, but I'd like to do an Indies of March to honor indie authors. I have many indie reviews waiting, so I could start on March 15th and review them until the end of the month. I do have a few book tours scattered about in March, but so far my schedule is fairly clear. I'm leaning heavily towards this feature, so I'm sure I'll be doing it.
In other news, I read 34 books in January. I am well ahead in my goal of 250 books this year, so I will enjoy the cushion while I have it. My book haul last week was colossal, so of course this week is sparce.

Hope Road looks interesting and I like your Indie author idea for March. I am anal and already have the skeleton and top part minus my chatty part of my Sunday post for next week done. Now as books come in I will add those, and any posts I want to share for around the blogosphere but my last week and this week portion is done.
ReplyDeleteI have the skeleton of several Sunday Posts drafted, but I always forget to add books as they come in and that's the part that takes the longest. lol I'm working on being better at that part. :)
DeleteI've started doing that too. I have a template and that helps. So far, next week's post has the link to this Sunday's post and some freebies I downloaded today.
Delete34 books read in January? WOW. Good for you. :)
I like the indies idea. A few years ago I did a March Mystery Madness for the whole month. Maybe I'll do it again next year.
Happy reading!
I keep the basics in a Cut & Paste document and come back to it all the time. :)
DeleteMarch Mystery Madness sounds great! I'm trying really hard to whittle my review queue down. :)
Great selection of Kindle books....enjoy! I like your idea for Indies of March. I'll be watching. Here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm 99.9% certain I'll be doing the Indies of March. :)
DeleteI think an indie feature would be nice! I always like finding books by lesser known authors. :)
ReplyDeleteI love indie authors! :)
DeleteI love your Indies of March Idea that's awesome :) I love Indie authors!
ReplyDeleteAlice the Vampire Slayers looks so interesting, for .99 it might be worth the download.
I like to do my sunday post on saturday too and add stuff if anything happens by sunday morning usually nothing does :)
Have a great sunday
Michelle
Because Reading is better than real life
The response has been overwhelming about the Indies of March, so it looks like a Go. :)
DeleteI couldn't pass up Alice as a vampire slayer. I read Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer and thought it was pretty good. lol
I *try* to get my post ready, but, well...lol.
Thanks! :)
34 books, wow that's awesome. I see you've got a post coming up on Storm Front- I'll watch for that since I'm reading that at the moment (or I was, I had too many books going and set it aside, but need to get back to it). Have a good Sunday, enjoy the Super Bowl if that's your thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) I read Storm Front a few years ago and then my youngest son needed something to read so I gave him the book. Now, I have all my kids hooked on the Dresden Files. My work here is complete. LOL
DeleteAh, the SuperBowl. How much did that suck? lol
34 books?! Dang. I don't think I could read that many in a month even if all I did was read. That's crazy-awesome! Enjoy your books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWell, there were a few short ones in there, so they tend to boost the numbers. :)
DeleteThanks and you, too!
Wow 34 books, I only made it to 8 because life has been so hectic. I'm surprised I have even read that many. Nice haul again this week, happy reading! :-)
ReplyDeleteSharon
8 is excellent! I'm not exactly sure how I managed that many other than the fact some of them were short. :)
DeleteThanks!
34 books in a month? Whoa! I am... well, just let me pick my chin up off the ground and find an adjective. Would "astonished" do the trick?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your review of the audio of Storm Front, since I just borrowed a copy from my stepdad. I also have it in paperback, and I'm not sure which format to choose.
Have a great week!
Pick up your chin before the 3 second rule or ewwwww. lol
DeleteI read Storm Front a few years ago and loved it (and the whole series). The narrator, James Marsters, isn't that great in my opinion, but he's getting better with each book. We're listening to Book 4 now.
Thanks! :)
Wow 34 books! That's amazing! The Indies of March sounds like a pretty cool idea. I really need to amp up the amount of indie books I read. I hope you have a lovely week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) And I'm going to do the Indies of March. Now, i just need some kind of graphic for it. :)
DeleteThanks, and you, too!
I continue to be amazed (and jealous) by how much you manage to read! 34 books is just amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love the Ides of March idea - if I wasn't already swamped in March I'd say I'd do it with you, but I've got COYER and Kimba's readathon.
And I'm off to check out those freebies! :)
I'm not sure exactly how I managed it, but I'll take the cushion. lol
DeleteIf the Indies of March works out I could make it a regular feature. And I'm going to try Kimba's Read-A-Thon, too. Try being the operative word. lol
Burn for Me looks really great! I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteIt really does. I'm looking forward to reading it. :)
