Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Sunday was all about Academy Sports. lol Anna, Kyle, and I now own several more guns, ammo, and a gun safe. No, we are not Republican. Republicans always seem so surprised that Democrats, Independents, and Unaffiliated voters actually own guns. Dumbasses. Anyway, Kyle grilled brats for dinner.
Monday ~ The guys were here to dig the footers and a couple of things happened. One, they found the well wires we couldn't. Not in a good way though. lol The water was off for several hours until the electrician could get here to fix it. Then...they hit a septic line while digging the footers for Anna's bedroom addition. Totally not their fault. That was the county's oops. Nowadays these lines are mapped by GPS. Back in my day (25 yrs ago lolol) they weren't. They weren't even drawn on the damn GIS. So we had to wait for an engineer to come out and check where all the lines were and give us the ok that it could be fixed in a manner that doesn't interfere with the addition. Luckily the guy doing the footer work also does septic systems and has been for decades so he knows all the people. Thank goodness. The footer inspector (who knew there were so many damn inspectors out there?!) was out and they got the ok to pour the concrete for the living room addition and the front porch slabs for the support posts. So at least that was done. Yay!
Tuesday ~ County engineer was out and gave the ok to repair the septic line. Yay! That means the septic/footer dude (you should really have seen this guy on his equipment, so amazing to watch) can fix the line so that it does not interfere with the footers for Anna's addition. There was much rejoicing since the engineer could have been a dick about it. Whew! Tree guy was out to give me a quote on removing 3 trees out front. Contractor was also here for a bit. So many people around these days I have to actually make sure my hair is brushed and I'm wearing a sports bra.
Wednesday ~ Rain. Hella lot of hard rain, wind, and a power outage for 3 hrs. All the concrete was under water and some under mud. I was also dealing with mud being tracked into the house because there is dirt literally everywhere and no porch to mitigate it. Humans and furries made a mess I had to keep cleaning up. Ugh.
Thursday ~ Contractor was out to bury the well wire. Trip and I were out and about getting Anna's car inspected and picking up a few groceries. No one gave me the heads up that the county electrical inspector (yet another inspector!) was going to be out to check the meter box. And I was driving when he rang the Ring, so I couldn't even answer to give him the ok to go look. Duke Energy guy showed up to do whatever it was he had to do. All I know is it involved little white flags. lol
Friday ~ County electrical inspector was back out and since I was home he did his thing. Now the electrician and the Duke Energy guy will coordinate to permanently move the meter box. Probably some time this week. Got estimate for septic repair and gave the go ahead. So that is scheduled for Monday. Cancelled Amazon Prime. I had already cancelled 18 subscriptions. Fuck oligarchs!
Saturday ~ I really didn't feel like cleaning and said I was going to just skip it. But then I didn't. lol Anna and Trip went to Boone's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. I did an abbreviated cleaning of my bathroom. Funny how now that the wasband is gone it doesn't get all that dirty anymore. I just pulled out the rugs and swept up. Eevee's litterbox is in my garden bathtub so she tends to track litter when she jumps out. When Trip got home he helped do the litterboxes and I did the laundry room sweep and mop. I baked 2 pans of brownies, a loaf of banana bread, and 3 lbs of bacon. While I was doing the bacon I was playing Pokeman GO since it was Community Day. Then I swept and mopped the kitchen. After that I finally showered before working on the blog.
Today we really need to start packing up Anna's room. I figured we could start with all the little stuff on her desk, but I may decide to do absolutely nothing. Of course, I say that every week and it never happens. lol We'll see.
