Hello and Happy Sunday!

Ellie Turns 7!

On the Home Front:  Kyle worked OT all week, so up at 4am.

Monday Artemis went to the vet to get her eye pressures checked and they were good. She got some other vaccines updated.

Tuesday I had a job interview. Kinda. Not sure what's up there. I dropped a paper application off on Thursday. Have heard nothing. *shrugs* Picked up Ellie's birthday cake.

Thursday grocery pick up.

Friday worked outside a bit. Picked up sticks and burned a brush pile.

Saturday morning Kyle had to work, so Trip, Anna, Jess, Ellie, and I went to Jess's (actually Carter's) storage unit and moved her stuff out of the one unit and into one paid for by me. That way we'll always have access to her stuff and don't have to worry about Carter doing something stupid or not paying the bill. We brought all the bags of clothes and laundry baskets with clothes back to the house. Just a few pieces of furniture left and a bunch of boxes. Did the Saturday cleaning. Helped Anna make a Toad Abode.

Sunday/today Jess is planning on sorting all the clothes we brought back, putting all the keep stuff in boxes so they are easier to stack. I want to work on the firewood rack area a bit and then we're going to see Deadpool and Wolverine. Well, everyone except Jess and Ellie because Ellie is only 7. After that I just want to relax and try to read, but will probably fall asleep.

Touching Nature: Been nice. Unseasonably cool for August here in NC. Gorgeous! Too bad we're going to creep back into the 90s this coming week. I burned some brush Friday and want to work outside today on some more firewood racks and restack a couple racks that got knocked over. I blame the squirrels for two and the other one looks like a branch fell out of a tree right on it. I might need to get some cheap netting/fencing to wrap the stacks so they don't do that again.

Book News: Slow progress here. I finished 2 books for tours, but have made little progress on the other two. I'm so tired I tend to nod off for awhile.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Just watching Criminal Minds while eating and trying to read after.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  Oops.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: If your pee is dark in color then you aren't drinking enough fluids. Hydrate!

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I appreciated the cooler weather this week and hope next week is the last one mostly in the 90s. In just a couple weeks, it will be time for the fall garden so I better get busy on planning.

  2. I saw you burning on Facebook. Our temps are warming back up. I love Criminal Minds and have watched and rewatched them all. Have a great day. {{hugs}}

    1. We got up to gross temps this week. Ugh. Next week is looking good though.

  3. The Toad Abode is cute. I'm tempted to make one, but it would just end up full of wasps and spiders. :)

    1. We've had a couple toads visit and 1 frog, but it's mostly these giant ugly slugs coming in and eating all the meal worms. Gah!
