These are a series of blogs that he penned when faced with his own mortality at the young age of 34. He had accepted and made peace with his fate. These blogs are filled with much depth and wisdom. It chronicles his realization of life and what and who truly matters.
May these blogs serve as a gentle reminder to not take life for granted. That no matter what we plan, things are out of our control, call it our fate or destiny. That through the darkest of times, there is still hope, and the power of the human spirit through adversities prevails.
May you find comfort in his words should you or your loved ones walk this difficult road.
-Dr. Parul Dua Makkar
Dr. Manu Dua faced many challenges in his short life, but none so challenging and devastating as fighting oral cancer, more than once, for two years. In his series of blog posts there are so many nuggets of wisdom gained so early in his life. Wisdom that should have been learned over many more years, but due to his battles he learned earlier than most of us.
He waxes philosophical about many things over the course of this book, but it was in his pain, discomfort, and suffering he learned to find peace. I cannot comprehend what he went through as I’ve not had the same experience, but I watched my mom battle stomach cancer that took her from us in just over a year. She faced everything with stoicism, rarely railing at the world. In Dua’s words I hear my mom. It’s been a year since she left us and this book both saddens and heals me in equal measure.
