Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:  On Monday I mowed, showered, then dropped Anna at the airport. She flew to Alaska to see DJ who is there for a few months. He lives in Arizona, but has family in Alaska, so he went there to get a job at Costco (where his dad and uncle work) then in a few months he'll transfer to Arizona. Hey, whatever works. lol

Weds ~ Did storm prep for Former Hurricane Debby which looked to be coming right through here.

Thursday ~ Former Hurricane Debby did, indeed, come right through here. Not a lot of wind, but a fuckton of rain. Ended up with 8" in my rain gauge. Got soaked walking the dogs. Changed clothes. Got soaked doing grocery pick up and shopping at BJ's. Changed clothes again.

Friday we got the grandkiddos (Kyleigh, Boone, & Oliver) for an overnight. Husband's job had a Despicable Me 4 event so we took them to that. Then they stayed an extra night which they don't usually do. Mostly because I send them home. lol However, since Ellie is living here and they were all having fun, and school will be starting in a few weeks, I figured I (and the dogs) could tolerate the noise and mess for a bit longer. We got Chinese food for dinner (McD's for Oliver and Boone). Jess and the girls had craft time. Husband fixed the messed up drive from all the rain and power washed most of the house. I did most of the Saturday cleaning.

Sunday ~ Husband and Trip will take the grands home in the morning. Of the usual Saturday cleaning, I just have the kitchen to sweep and mop then carpets to vacuum. I also want to clean out the pantry. Then I want to read. Husband will finish power washing the house. We'll have Chinese leftovers for dinner.

Touching Nature: Mowed on Monday. Former Hurricane Debbie rolled through on Thursday dumping 8" of rain on us according to my rain gauge. Everything is so wet and it's so humid. It's gross.

Book News: I'm still working on several books. Finished an audiobook. I listen to those when I take Kyle to and from work. So, about 50 minutes a day. Better than nothing, I guess.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Almost finished with Burn Notice. I hate to say this because overall it's a decent show. But...Fiona and Maddie are so fucking annoying! I mean, I loathe them. So so much! Could Fiona whine any more? Could Maddie be any more stupid? GAH!

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, Finch (If you use this app and want to be friends let me know)

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes you have to take a deep breath, let it out slowly, and not tell someone to go fuck themselves with a cactus.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Glad we don't have hurricanes up here but we did get a lot of rain. Debby did a number on so many states.

  2. Busy week. We got some rain. I like the clouds since it tends to make things slightly cooler. I'm looking forward to north winds this week hopefully cooling a bit more. After the rain, the lawn will need more mowing. I really need to trim and edge but the time when it wasn't raining was pretty limited.

    1. This week's forecast is looking pretty good! The rain has been ridiculous. This is typically drought season, dammit. lol
