On the Home Front: I was entirely too busy this week and I still have a list a mile long of things to do. I did get in to see the oral surgeon and have an appointment on 10/31 (between hubby's schedule and mine that's the best date I could get) to get 2 molars pulled. Not looking forward to that. At all.

Hubby and I finally finished our project in the office. I need to hang coats, sort though hats and gloves, and various other stuff while filling the space. But I'm liking it.

Next up is to tidy and rearrange my desk. I need to set up my new monitor and the gaming computer Trip gave me when George built him a new one. I need to go through my files, too. It's at least a day's work. Minimum.

We also need to take things out of the oldest shed, sort though it all, take 2 of the fixed shelves out, and put stuff back including hubby's woodworking tools from the big shed. But that has to be done on days with no rain forecasted *and* hubby is not working. Then the big shed needs done. I have a list with approximately one million things on it that need done around here. We'll finish them eventually.

Friday I drove to Ohio to pick up the antique china cabinet mom left me. I stuffed the shelves with pillows, sheets, comforter, etc to cushion the glass. Since Anna and DJ also drove up to go to the Geneva Jamboree, he helped me load it into the Pilot with some assistance from Anna and my sis-in-law, Amy. It was nerve wracking. I was so afraid we'd drop it (it was heavier than it looked) or hit the glass on a door frame, etc. Whew. I also packed a few things that would fit, but it wasn't a lot. The cabinet took up much of the room. I then drove home Saturday, but it was raining from Tropical Storm Ophelia so we did not unload. That's on the list to do today. Anna and DJ should be back some time today.

Also, the online auction of all the stuff at the farm went live yesterday. It'll end Oct. 5th.

Since I traveled yesterday I'll have to do my usual cleaning today. I am exhausted.

And finally, Anna bought me an Echo Dot like, a hundred yrs ago, but I could never get the damn thing to work and then I forgot I had it until we started on the office project. So, Kyle messed around with it for nearly an hour last night and finally got it working. So, of course, the first thing I said was, "Alexa, make fart noises." That's completely normal, right? Right?! LOL

Touching Nature: It's been very nice. I love this weather. I do need to mow though and we did get some rain from Ophelia.

Book News: I listened to 3 audios and started a 4th on my Ohio trip. I have a novella to read for a tour on Tuesday. Hoping to do that tomorrow.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  I'm on season 5 of Angel, my favorite season.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When you're a kid pining for the day you are a grown up, you have no idea how much of adulting just sucks ass. However, you can go into a store and just buy a cake, no reason needed. So there is that.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I love that thing you built, I wish my husband was handy like that. I would have him building so much stuff. Maybe thats why he chooses not to be handy

  3. I love the way your family does projects and cleans out and builds things. I watch all the stuff on HGTV which are too fancy for me but I like the organizing ideas. The cooler weather is awesome. It makes the yard work much easier.

  4. Reorganizing always looks so great once it's done, but the doing of it just might kill you. Good luck! Have a great week.
