Hello and Happy Sunday!

Welcome to Mustafar.
This is what it feels like in North Carolina.

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Saturday ~ Stuff. Too much stuff. I'm very stressed and overwhelmed. It's so fucking hot. Did outside work. Did inside work. Took care of the stray dog that we named Lottie. Posted about her on the internet and searched to see if her owners were missing her. Nope. Red Dog Farms couldn't take her, so Saturday I dropped her off at the animal shelter. At least the shelter is brand new. Hopefully she'll get a quick adoption.
  • Friday ~ Special mention that it was my eldest spawn's 38th birthday! I'll be taking some local Red Oak beer up to him this coming week.
  • Today - I hope to relax and read. I hope for this every Sunday. Sometimes I get my wish.

Mom's week: The chemo is really exhausting her. I think the nurse said fatigue/exhaustion is the number 1 side effect. She also has thrush. Again. She lost 3 lbs. She said nothing tastes good because her nose and taste buds aren't working. She has a CT scan on the 27th to see if the chemo is doing anything besides making her miserable. I'll be there this coming week. Heading up on Monday and back home on Saturday. Leaving the rest of the fam in charge of the homestead.

Touching Nature: Hot and moist as Satan's taint. Got the mowing done and some other odds & ends as well on Tuesday and Weds. morning. Did not die, but felt like it.

Book News: I read And Then There Were None for my book club. That's it.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Season 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, Cross Word Jam, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  I just call it brushing my teeth.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: If you strip the bed for washing day be sure to make it again before bedtime. Do not forget! Trust me on this one.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I think it's the same hot as every year but more rain, so I have to mow more often. I hope you do get to read and relax and have a good trip north next week Carol.

  2. The weather sure is weird this summer but I fear that's the norm.

  3. It was 97 degrees here yesterday, and it'll be hotter today. I hate it and feel like I'm losing my mind.
