Hello and Happy Sunday!

Remembering those who gave everything.

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - I can't remember. I think I just relaxed?
  • Monday - Tore out the stump and bigass root in front of the house. Had to be careful since the utilities were buried under the root close to the flowerbed.

  • Tuesday - Built a retaining wall with the blocks I had hauled back from Ohio. Obviously need more gravel but that will have to wait until hubby gets another job. Or I write and sell a book. lol
  • Wednesday -  Another dentist appt. I was supposed to have the large filling done (that I had lost) and a smaller filling on the lower left, but my upper right from last week was still very sensitive and sore so I got the smaller filling on the lower right done instead. I gotta be able to chew though I guess I could go to a soft foods or liquid diet. Not appealing. lol The left side will just have to wait a bit until the right side calms its tits. Hopefully it will otherwise it means a root canal down the road.
  • Thursday - Grocery pick up. Then I finished putting the blocks I hauled from mom's around my flowerbed. Though that's a bit of a misnomer as there aren't any flowers there. Yet.
  • Friday - Everyone is home for a 4 day weekend. Except Anna told a sick co-worker she'd go in for her from 2:00-6:00. Rain in forecast for tomorrow so Anna and I did the litterboxes and I cleaned the laundry room. I put some pancake blocks over in the "flowerbed" for steps to my birdbath. It's very slopey and hard to stand there when cleaning and filling the birdbath. Not what I really wanted to do, but they'll work for now since I already had them from another project and I didn't have to buy anything. Also weeded the greenery out, some of it poison ivy which I got on me. Luckily only a few small spots are itchy. Finished a book while hubby and the boys gamed on their computers. Woot!
Mom said she's going to tear out the rest of the blocks from around the milkhouse and I can have them. Maybe about 36 of them she thinks. So I'll haul them back one of these trips and run them on the other side of the "steps" towards the squirrels' dining area. That would be the child-sized picnic table. lol
  • Saturday - Got up before 7:00. Fed the furries, walked the dogs, fed the outdoor critters, went out to get my Pokestop, then did the cleaning before showering and putting on some clean jammies. All before 11:30. Ate lunch then did laundry while working on my blog before reading a bit.
  • Today - I plan to relax and read.

Mom's week: Mom had a scan and the news isn't great. Oncologist believes immunotherapy isn't working so he recommended chemo infusion once a week for 12 weeks. Side effects are many and it seems like mom thinks she'll get them all. I keep telling her that's highly unlikely but she's never been a big optimist. She has agreed to give it a go but she will not tolerate being sick like last Fall and she will not be leaving her home again. If it makes her feel like shit and weak she will stop. This is a bit different chemo med and delivery as last Fall she had the chemo pills and radiation with 2 chemo infusions about 3 weeks apart. Each week will be blood check and 1/2 hr of anti-side effect infusion before doing the chemo infusion. So, let's hope side effects are very minimal and she can do the whole 12 weeks as the oncologist thinks it will help. Obviously, since she could not have surgery to remove the tumors, any treatment will only prolong her life and not cure the cancer. But we'll take it.

Touching Nature: Tore out a stump and a bigass root. Built a retaining wall (what a pain in the ass), set some blocks around the flowerbed and put some steps in to the birdbath. Did not get to the mowing. That'll have to wait until next week. Next big project is starting on the raised beds.

Book News: I have several reviews to write. And so many books to read.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Signed up for Acorn TV so we can finish Murdoch Mysteries. We're in season 15.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Zen Match, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  Vocabulary is important.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom:

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I have some books for review that I think I forgot to share. There are a lot of them since this year my reading is slower than trying to pour molasses in the Antarctic. I hate that because I love Red Adept books so much. If I've already shared these then pardon the duplication.

  1. You are doing a nice job with your yard. It all takes time. I hope the new treatment is helpful for your Mom with limited side effects.
