Hello and Happy Sunday!
(post written on Saturday)

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Mostly relaxed. The guys like Hamburger Helper so I made that for dinner. I ate some of the Texas Roadhouse leftovers in the fridge.
  • Monday - Trip blew the Leafy Menace off the roof then I got to work clearing the yards and drive. I was victorious! It looks so much better and will not be slippery with the rain moving in tomorrow. Will need to rake up the acorns though. So.Many!
  • Tuesday - Cold and rainy. Yuck. Worked on the blog.
  • Wednesday - Grocery pick up.
  • Thursday - Picked Anna up at the airport. Her flight was late so my whole morning was taken up with that task.
  • Friday - How stupid is it that I can't fucking remember what I did on this day? LOL
  • Saturday -  Worked on the blog then did the usual Saturday cleaning.
  • Today -  Hoping to finally install the rods in Anna's closet and maybe drain the hot water tank.
Mom's week: The antivirals (Paxlovid) were making her sick so she told them she wasn't taking them anymore. Then she started feeling better. Her first day of freedom from quarantine she overdid it on the exercise so was very very sore the next day. lol I shouldn't laugh but wouldn't we all do that? 10 days in a small room is a lot even for me who would read the entire time. Mom's eyes aren't great so no reading for her and she doesn't like audiobooks. I wonder if I can find books with super large print? That should really be a thing, right?

Touching Nature: The weather has flopped back to Fall. Upper 40s/low 50s during the day and below freezing at night. Battle V of Leafageddon was won on Monday.

Book News: Wrote 4 reviews. Woot! Don't get too excited though. I still have something like 11 to do, 5 of which are monster porn short stories for Monster Porn Monday (12/5).

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still working through Bones - finished a shortened season 3 and started season 4.

At the Flicks: Not yet.

Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match. I need some new games.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When visiting England remember that they drive on the left side of the road.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Your library might have a selection of large print books, I know ours does. The other option is reading an ebook on a tablet since you can make the font whatever size you want.

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. Ok, so why didn't I think of a tablet? She has an iPad. I'm an idiot. lol The assisted living facility has a book room she was going to check for large print. I think she forgot though. lol

  2. ShelleyRae beat me to it. The library can be a good source for large print books. And as my eyesight gets worse with age, I find I read more and more on my Kindle Paperwhite because I can adjust the font size. I would recommend an e-ink reader (like the Paperwhite, or the Nook Glowlight) over a tablet. They are much easier on the eyes, especially if you reduce the backlighting as much as you can.

Weatherwise, it sounds like yours is much like ours. Late fall is officially here. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    1. She doesn't have a library card, but the assisted living has a book room. And she has an iPad so she could get books for it. I'll have to look into that. I have a Fire and a Paperwhite, but I find myself reading on my iPad more and more. Probably because it's bigger. lol

  3. yes that is part of why I read ebooks. I can adjust the font. She could get a library card, pretty easily. The question is whether they have good stuff. But if she's not prolific like me she probably has plenty of options. The Leafy Menace has total control of the backyard I have managed the front yard. I'm waiting for a slightly warmer day to fight a new battle
