Hello and Happy Sunday!
(post written on Saturday)
Sunrise on the farm
Leaves are changing color.
Made mom get some fresh air and watch Anna carve her pumpkin
on the 2nd to last nice day (Tuesday) before the chill moved in.
On the Home Front:
- Sunday - Traveled to Ohio.
- Monday - Toured an assisted living facilty with my brother. Wow. We want to know when we can move in. It's so nice! Apparently most places have 1 full-time activity director and this place has 3. We got there at lunch time and it smelled delicious! I swear, it's like a cruise ship without the ocean. lol
- Tuesday - Grocery shopping.
- Wednesday - Took mom to tour the assisted living facility. She did really well with what I call her Hot Wheels (a rolling walker).
- Thursday - Oncologist appt. Dr is pleased with how she looks and her attitude compared to last week.
- Friday - Fetch, carry, fix food, more food, dishes, etc. Mom had a really good day.
- Saturday - Mom had a bad morning, but was better by afternoon. Bro, niece, nephew, and niece-in-law painted the shop and machine shed.
- Today - Hoping to start moving furniture into mom's room at the assisted living. Sis-in-law is taking her (if she's up to it) to look at a mattress for her bed. She needs a twin since her own bed is a double, plus it's too high for her in her weakened condition. Bro and fam are going to finish painting the shop. There's not much left.
Mom's week: Busy, busy, busy. Between fixing food, dispensing meds, appointments, and touring the assisted living facility, it's been very busy this week. She's been fussing over what furniture to take and making lists. The place is super nice and while she's sad to be leaving her home since 1969, she's excited too. And if she gets stronger she can always come back home. She figures she'll winter there then she doesn't have to deal with the snow here at the farm. LOL
Touching Nature: Half the week was nice then it rained hard and chillier weather moved in. Fairly typical Ohio weather. There's a wintry mix in the forecast for Tues? I think it's time to head home to NC.
Book News: Listened to an audiobook while traveling. Almost finished it. Also started and finished The Akseli and wrote the review. However, I still have 11 reviews to write.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Watching a lot of the game network and Leave It to Beaver.
At the Flicks: Not yet.
Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match
Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Save, save, save your money. Because (if needed) you do not want to go to a shitty/bare bones assisted living facility.

I'm glad your mom is excited about her new adventure. How much does a NOT shitty/barebones Assisted Living place cost? I'll definitely need to live in one some day as I have no kids to look after me. Ha ha.
