Jack Swift is woken up at 3:33 am on his 14th birthday to a monster in his bedroom at his foster home. The monster grabs him and takes him to the land of Keymark where Jack learns that the universe is nothing like he thought it was. But before he can get back home, all Hell breaks loose. Jack and his new friends have to defend Keymark, but the odds are stacked against them. Will they prevail?
This is one rip roaring adventure! It starts out great, then oh no, then bigger oh no, and then…what the hell just happened?! Immediately after that it takes off at top speed and doesn’t let up until the end. It’s fast-paced, exciting, heartbreaking, humorous, nail-biting, and ultra creative. I love the characters, the world, the plot, and I did mention the characters, right? They are my favorite part. If you like fast fantasy with a lot of heart then do not pass this one up. The Legend of Black Jack is one of my favorite reads of 2022.
