Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Rain.
  • Monday - Mowed even though it was wet. Wet shoes, wet socks, wet feet. Gross. Artemis went to doggie day care so the cats could roam free for the day.
  • Tuesday - Mammogram. All clear. Mom had her PET scan. Artemis shit in her crate then had really soft poop the rest of the day. Wtf
  • Wednesday -  Rain. Lots of rain. 3.5" of it. Mom got the results from PET scan. Optimistic. Anna tests positive for Covid. Wtf. She's still at mom's so she's isolating upstairs and when she's down they both wear masks. Had a guy come give me an estimate for a new front deck. Artemis's soft poop has turned to diarrhea and she shit in her crate again. She ate breakfast but not dinner and then vomited a couple of times. Dammit.
  • Thursday -  Got Artemis into vet as a drop off. Her gut bacteria way off. Diarrhea is now bloody. They gave her fluids and some meds and I brought her home in the afternoon. Grocery pick up, some errands. Doctor office says as long as mom is asymptomatic she can go in tomorrow for further tests.
  • Friday - Artemis eats breakfast and dinner and takes her meds. News on mom's tests not great. Surgery is off the table. Too complicated and dangerous at her age (85). It's stage 3 possibly heading into stage 4. Chemo for sure to shrink the tumors, but they need to do a biopsy in her lung to make sure some areas are not also cancer. It might be something else called sarcoidosis. If cancer, she will also have radiation. Biggest concern right now is her eating. The large tumor is at the esophagus opening and blocking a large percent of it. Making it hard for mom to get food down. Dr. wants her to eat small meals (no bread) as many as 6x a day with Boost as supplement and all the calorie laden items she can handle (all the ice cream she wants!) to keep her calories up. She lost 2 lbs and he doesn't want her to lose any more. Last biopsy should be early this coming week then they can go ahead with a treatment plan that may include immunotherapy. Waiting for tests and results is harrowing.
  • Saturday - Rocky shit in his crate then had soft poop with a bit of blood after breakfast. Maybe Artemis picked up a virus at doggie daycare and brought it home. WTF Speaking of Artemis, she didn't want to eat her breakfast or take her meds so I was able to run her to the vet and they gave her a couple of shots. Got medicine for Rocky. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Hot. Cleaning inside then used the backpack blower outside to clear the sides of the drive so hubby can fix the river that keeps happening with the torrential rains, but the thunder started and rain moved in. At least it cooled down. Steaks on the grill for dinner. Thanks, Kyle. *makes note-need to refill propane tank
  • Today - I don't know what I'm going to do today. Depends on the weather. I'm sick and tired of everything right now. I have 2 more people coming out to give me estimates for a deck and porch roof addition. Then I'll pick one and we'll get going on it.
Touching Nature: Hot & Wet. But not in a good way.

Book News: I got nuttin' to report here. Depressing.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still in season 6 of Supernatural - AKA Soulless Sam.

At the Flicks: Not yet.

Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match

Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Staying optimistic is hard sometimes. So wallow in despair for a bit, but not too long. Pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and carry on. Because no one can do that for you.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Well that's a distressing week and hard work for you. We just don't go out without masks. I hope things improve lots this week! Sadly, I think it will be hotter and without the rain cool downs.

    1. When doctor offices and hospitals don't require masks any more then I'll stop wearing mine. Probably. But right now they are the only places I know of still insisting on masks. I hate this weather. Yuck.
