Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front:
- Last Sunday we saw Doctor Strange. Then hubby called to talk to his dad and we found out my father-in-law's long time girlfriend (21 yrs) died Saturday evening. She'd had several strokes the last couple years and in the last few months was diagnosed with sundowners dementia that progressed quite rapidly. So much so that my FIL had moved out because she didn't recognize him. The week of Memorial Day, she had another massive stroke and pulmonary edema, fell into a coma, and never woke. My kids thought of her as a grandma because my mother-in-law died in 1998. It was a sad start to the week.
- Monday Trip and I worked on cleaning the back deck and planting some stuff. See Touching Nature.
- I don't remember what we did Tuesday or Weds. lol
- Thursday was grocery pick up.
- Friday we worked outside in the morning. In the afternoon the A/C guys came to do maintenance and unplug the drainage pipe because we got a shitton of water that leaked under the house from it. Which is bad. Ugh No surprise that it was plugged with dust bunnies and a large amount of cat hair. It took about 6 yrs to build up so maybe we have another 6 yrs before it does it again? lol
- Sat I didn't do much of anything (except got up early to run a few errands) which means I need to do my cleaning today. Ugh
Touching Nature: It wasn't too awful weatherwise. Every morning I feed my critters. I may have gotten some tributes from the crows, but I'm not quite sure. I mean, two pieces of bark and some weird piece of vegetation could have just fallen from the surrounding trees. Who knows? lol I think it was Monday Trip and I worked on cleaning the back deck and I did some planting in some planters. Tomato (beefsteak and cherry), jalapeno, and cantaloupe seeds. We'll see if they grow. Friday morning, before it got too hot, I mowed and Trip took care of the weeds (whacked and sprayed).
Book News: I read some. It was an underwhelming amount, but at least it was something.
Don't Touch That Dial!: We finished Without A Trace! Yay! That is a show I will never ever rewatch. Ever. So, we continued on with our Star Wars chronological rewatch (which we'll have to go back and watch Obi-Wan Kenobi when it's complete). We finished Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett (finally watched it) and The Force Awakens. We'll have to decide on something else before we've finished this set.
At the Flicks: We did see Doctor Strange last week and it was pretty good. I guess we really need to watch the Marvel shows though.

Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: There are way too many stupid, dumbass, I-can't-believe-you-function-at-all people out there. Not a nugget. Just an observation.

I love late spring/early summer as it's all green and not too hot.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love your wisdom. I've done plenty of stupid things in my life, but some people just blow my mind. How have they managed to survive this long?
ReplyDeleteYou were so smart to mow; it was pretty nice Friday and even Saturday. I didn't because I decided I wasn't going to cut it short right before the heat wave. Maybe a mistake. I'm worried about the isolated rain we will get during the heat this week so I have to plan some watering after dinner to keep things living.

So sorry for your loss. That sounds like a sad start to the week. I saw Doctor Strange when it first came out and really enjoyed it. Hope that you have a good week!

So sorry about your f-i-l's girlfriend. How do dustbunnies and cat hair get into the drainage pipe? I want to prevent that from happening to ours, if I can, since we have plenty of dustbunnies and cat hair around here.
ReplyDeleteSo, what did you read? I must be tired, I can't see it. Though I love your cute art.
