Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: It's been 3 weeks since hubby went to Iowa for training and the group still have not received their per diem money. We're ok without it (it should be here this week) but most of the group need that money because they are having to eat out. Hubby eats out some, but he went to Walmart and bought some food to keep in his room. Cheaper than eating out all the time. Anyway they'll be home this Friday for a week then back to 3 weeks of training. Some of them are telling the company "We're not coming back if we don't get our per diem!" Hubby's like, "Don't speak for me. I'm coming back." We know the company will get it sorted out and we'll get the money eventually. Bitching every second of the day isn't going to get it any faster and it's really pissing hubby off. He's sick of hearing about it from them. Anyway, he's really enjoying the training and would actually prefer not to come home for a week. He'd rather keep at it until they send his ass home. LOL

I don't really have anything else to report for this week. I spent it working on blog drafts, watching Star Wars, and reading. Although I did get several small household tasks done that were on the To Do List, but because they were small it doesn't feel like I accomplished anything. LOL Maybe I can report next Sunday that I tidied the office and got my new computer set up. Well, shit. Now I kinda need to stop piddle farting around so I can report back that it's done. lololol
Touching Nature: Whew! It sure got nipply out here in NC. We even had a tiny bit of snow. I went to bed one night and it was raining and when I got up bam! White stuff on the ground. lol My poor daffodils are so confused. Us, too, daffies, us too.
Book News: I wrote 3 reviews and yet I somehow still have 10 reviews to write! That's what I get for binging.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I have finished Rogue One, A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi in our Star Wars watch so tomorrow we start The Mandalorian. The Hurricanes are back after having 6 players on the Covid Protocol list. Yay! Other than I've watched nothing.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I thought of a great nugget while I was driving and then completely forgot it by the time I got home. It'll come to me again, I'm sure. And I'm also sure I'll forget to write it down.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Your poor husband. You have a new computer and haven't set it up? As soon as I have a new electronic gadget or laptop I drop everything to set it up. LOL. I got all caught up on reviews and finished two books. It's like laundry. Have a good week Carol!
ReplyDeleteOh my. I'm debating whether to tell you I actually bought this computer back in March and have been dragging my feet about it because 1. it's a whole new operating system, 2. I needed to save everything first, and 3. I have so much shit (I mean cute knickknacks) on my desk that I need to clear it off and clean it first. LOL
DeleteHope the per diem money comes soon, but glad your husband has a good attitude about it!

It's a big company. On the one hand, they should be used to doing stuff like this. On the other hand, when I say it's a big company, I mean it's HUGE. And I think there are too many middle managers in the mix. But we should have it this week. :)
Deleteoh sorry to hear about that per diem situation! Hope it gets resolved soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pain, but will hopefully be resolved soon.
DeleteI'm so glad your husband is really enjoying the training. I have to get to setting up a new computer right away when I get it but I do make a detailed plan of all the applications / data and keep a log as I get everything over to the new machine. Good luck!

I'm dragging my feet. Like *really* dragging them. SIGH I'll do it this week. Probably. lol
