Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: This week everyone had eye doctor check ups except hubby who had his last week. All eyes look good. *snickers* Hubby went out of town Friday to Indiana for an elementary school get together with friends he hasn't seen since high school. He lived in a rural area so all his friends went to school together from elementary on up. At 52 he thought it was better now than later in case friends die. Bonus that he stayed with his dad near Springfield, OH so he got to visit with him and his dad's long-term girlfriend who we only see once a year, so they were happy to see him. He'll be home some time this evening.
Touching Nature: Cooler and it rained. Before the rain moved in Thursday night, Sgt Backpack Blower and I engaged in Battle II of Leafageddon. The leafy menace added brown missiles to their arsenal (fyi, acorns) and Ma Nature aided them with a stiff breeze, but we were successful in clearing the noisy bastards out of our territory.
Book News: I'm reading and writing reviews. Well, sorta writing reviews. I finished 3 books and wrote 1 review but I hope to finish the others today just so I don't get behind. Also, I had quite the list of Shelf Additions this week. I hope I didn't forget any.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Getting close to finishing Perry Mason on DVD.
At the Flicks: Nope. We probably won't be seeing any movies until 2021.
Cyberspace Playground: Still with the puzzles on my iPad.

Nope
I promised photos of my Folio Society book.
They seriously do not do it justice. It's gorgeous!
I may wear white cotton gloves while reading it.
I'm kidding. Or am I?

My daughter has an eye appointment at the end of the month. Poor thing can't see a thing. Going to try and get her contacts for cheer and a pair of glasses for everyday.
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me I have two reviews to write. Need to write them before I forget!
Our leaves are still on the trees. :)
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! Safe trip home for hubby! xx
Hubby can't see either. He had perfect vision then when he got diabetes it seems to have just deteriorated quicker than we thought it would. So, he has bifocals now so he doesn't have to keep taking readers on and off. lol
DeleteI need to get to those 2 reviews, but they may need to wait until this week. I seriously need to clean my desk. Ugh
Oh, we still have plenty of leaves on the trees. It's just that we have SO many trees here. lol
He's on his way. Hopefully an uneventful drive. :)
Bwahaha I love that Geralt picture! I hope your hubs had a great and safe time!
ReplyDeleteI hate when I'm in the shower and I realize I need body wash or shampoo and forget to get after the last shower. Ugggghhh!
DeleteHe says he did. He's on his way home now.
I really enjoyed Dune but it's been a looong time since I read it. Yay for all the Annette Marie books! I have not done much leaf battle yet but it's coming. I'm busy planting my perennial flowers first, and managing water drainage. I'll be glad to have these projects completed. Have a great week Carol!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
It's been about 42 yrs +/- since I read Dune. It's one of the first books my older brother gave me to combat the Harlequins mom was giving me. LOL And with the movie coming out I figured I would commemorate it with the Folio Society book.
DeleteI can't wait to do flower planning. We're not to that stage yet. Lots more major work to get done before we can plan the finer details. I want a wide variety of flowers to bring in the bees, butterfies, and hummingbirds. We'll get there eventually. *sigh*
Have a great week, Anne!
My husband got shingles in his left eye, he came close to losing his sight and had to have laser surgery, he regained most of vision but has to wear glasses now.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is really looking forward to the Cousins
Wishing you a great reading week
Holy shit! Ow! So glad he regained at least some of his vision even if he has to wear glasses. My mom's eyesight is slowly deteriorating due to macular degeneration. Eventually she'll be blind. :( But not yet.
DeleteAaaaaw, you Halloweenied the blog! Nice. Lots of reading in your future, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI can't understand why I didn't do this sooner! I'm such an idiot sometimes. LOL
