--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Sweet Baby Jane. I was on the go every single fucking day. I'm exhausted. Ugh.

Had the grandkiddos over yesterday and into today. They're fun to have over but after a tiring week I am ready to just drop into bed and stay there for 24 hrs.

On top of that, there's all the hoopla regarding Trump and his supposed COVID-19 illness. Only time will tell how this is all going to play out and I will not go into what I think about all the conflicting reports, weird tweets, and fake looking videos/photos. It is what it is.

Touching Nature: Cooler and very nice. Except for some rain early in the week. Definitely Fall weather and probably time to make a big pot of chili. I tried to get my brush pile burning yesterday and it didn't really want to catch. It smoldered a lot, so after 3 hrs of hand feeding it I gave up and just left it to smoke.

Book News: Not much to report here. Too busy this week.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Watched the Indians blow it, so no more baseball for me. Hockey is over. All that's left is my Browns. We did watch some Perry Mason when we had a bit of time.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Puzzles on the iPad. Probably won't be done with this any time soon.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Did you know that stubborn greasy food stains on clothing can usually be removed by Dawn dish detergent? Rub some into the stain and let it sit for a bit. I'm not actually sure how long because I tend to forget it's sitting there and I go back to the laundry room hours later and go, "Oh, yeah!" before tossing it in the wash. Check before throwing it in the dryer just to be sure. Sometimes a 2nd application might be needed. I'm looking at you, bacon.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. It was quite a week, wasn't it? SMH. Sorry about your Indians. Enjoy the new Dresden Files book! One of these days I will start that series... Oh, and I picked up Spellbreaker, too. I still haven't read any Charlie Holmberg, so it will probably be the first.

  3. Ooh great tip - grease is the one stain that tends to defy me. 🤬

Yeah what a week! I didn't comment on the politics of the week in my post but what a week, eh? Time will tell some version of events. Not sure we'll ever know any story that's even close to truth.

I hope you get a chance to really relax today and next week is less hectic! I seriously need to read the Dresden Files someday. Anyway... Have a great week!

  4. I hope this week is less stressful for you. I ate a lot of chili last week because it’s the perfect time of year for it. I love chili. Happy October!

  5. It was lots of projects this week leaving me dragging this weekend. There was the anger and worry over all the latest antics this week as well. I am planning to make chili later this week too! I love Harry Dresden and bacon. Happy reading!
