Lacey Fitzpatrick and her husband Sam Firecloud are paranormal investigators. Well, Lacey is also just a plain ol’ private detective most days and Sam just quit his construction job to open his own pottery studio, but yeah, they also release ghosts who are trapped on Earth. In this book, they are called to look into a house that may have a ghost harming the two small children living there. It’s a tough one to crack, but Sam and Lacey never give up. In addition, Sam is being targeted by a bad guy just as he’s getting ready for the Open House of his pottery studio. Who the hell is this guy anyway? He’s not a ghost, that’s for sure. Luckily, the LAPD has their backs.

I’m still loving this series. This is a quick read with not one but two mysteries, and some danger.  The writing is minimalistic, saying only what needs to be said and letting me fill in the rest. I love how Lacey researches the cases and how Sam picks up on clues from the ghost. Each ghost is different and they will wring your heart out, but this one is especially sad, so prepare your heart. Or just have tissues handy. I always cry at the ghost release. *sniffles*
