Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: We've had a fairly quiet week even with several appointments where I played the part of the Uber driver. It's been strange without Snowy. Things I wait for her to do, like follow me into the kitchen, ever hopeful I'll drop something for her to snarf up. Walking only Vengeance in the morning, having her dance around waiting to eat the leftover cat food on mopping day, staring at you while you eat, photobombing every single time we get the camera out, it's a million things that we've been used to over 15 yrs. I got the call Friday that her ashes are ready. I'll pick them up tomorrow if we don't get dumped on.
Touching Nature: It has gotten chillier over the week and we're expecting Diego to drop by and leave some of his cold white shit here in NC. Since I'm drafting this at 9pm Saturday night, there's nothing to report yet. In case of a large amount of snow/ice and potential power outage, I have the Voracious Homestead locked and loaded. We will not be cold nor will we starve.
Book News: I've finished three more books and have two reviews to write. My Goodreads total for the year is now at 115.
Don't Touch That Dial!: We're closing in on the end of season 13 of NCIS and I don't want to because I know Michael Weatherly is leaving. I'll give season 14 a chance, but I'm pretty sure it won't be anywhere near as fun without him. I may be giving up on it. We'll see.
At the Flicks: Nope. But the trailer for Avengers 4 is out!
Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Sorry again about your puppy. I think the hardest part is finding a new normal. I did feel like they came home when I got the ashes. I just felt like they were with me again.
ReplyDeleteI hope Diego doesn't dump on you too much but have fun sledding! :)
I hope you have an awesome week, Carol! Happy Reading!
I picked up her ashes today. It is like she's home now.
DeleteIt dumped a lot on us and the sledding was so much fucking fun! Now it's just a damn mess that I want gone. LOL
I'm so sorry about your dog! They're like our children, so I know it must be hard. I have five in addition to my human children, haha. We have a full house!
ReplyDeleteI stopped watching NCIS after the 13th season because everyone keeps leaving. It's just not the same without the original crew! I will probably watch S14 eventually, but I think Abby is gone now, too. Have a lovely week!
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
We've had 3 dogs and 4 cats, but are down to 1 dog and 3 cats. It sucks when one is gone. Snowy was our longest lived at 17 (we had her 15 yrs), Taco was 15 (we had him nearly 5 yrs), and we lost Kitty Amazing as a kitten when she failed to thrive.
DeleteWe just finished season 13 and I'm procrastinating on 14. *sigh*
Yes, I keep looking for Gina when I accidentally drop food. Or just when I walk by where her crate and food bowl sat.
ReplyDeleteNCIS, Criminal Minds many of the shows have lost people I enjoyed from the beginning. I don't watch much tv these days though.
I went out today to shovel the heavy wet snow. It's not too cold except I got soaking wet. And I need a better shovel, the one I have is breaking. I didn't want it to freeze on the driveway but I only got half finished. It's supposed to be 50s by the end of the week though.
I hope you have a safe and pleasant week and get to enjoy some books. Anne - Books of My Heart
I want to watch Criminal Minds next. We're watching Christmas movies so I havent' started season 14 of NCIS. Yet.
DeleteWe got dumped on and it was perfect for sledding. For one day. Now it's wet and slushy and crap. It needs to go now. lol Bring on the 50s!
I'm sorry about your dog. They do leave such an absence when they are gone. I still hear my dogs toenails clicking on the tile floors and she's been gone several years. My other dog still acts like he senses her too. I brought her ashes home and it did feel like she was home again too:)
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I picked up her ashes today and it does feel like she's home. Having other furballs around helps, too. We're discussing finding another rescue after the new year.
