Hello and Happy Sunday!
It is now December and 2018 is 92% uploaded. I can't wait for this year to be done. I'm so over it.
On the Home Front: We traveled back to NC from OH on Monday with no issues except it tried to snow in WV. On Tuesday we picked up the furbabies from boarding and Snowy had a grand mal seizure in their parking lot. The day went downhill from there. She was on phenobarbitol, but it wasn't working anymore. After several seizures during the day we took her to the ER vet Tues night where they put her on keppra. She spent the night and did well, so we brought her home Weds evening. By Thurs she was doing so poorly I took her to our regular vet and after an exam and thoroughly discussing her symptoms and her quality of life we made the tough choice to put her to sleep. She was 17 and even if she had cancer or a brain tumor (which we strongly suspected) there was no way we could put her through surgery. We adopted her from a shelter where they estimated her at 2 yrs old and she was with us for 15 yrs. My youngest kids are 21, 19, and 18, so they've had her their whole lives. Needless to say, it's been another tough week for us.
Touching Nature: Battle III of Leafageddon has been won. I hope that's it for this year. Other than that, it's been blah.
Book News: With everything going on I came up 2 books short of my NetGalley November goal. I hope to have those last 2 books up in December. Appropriate since they're Christmas-themed. In any case, I made the coveted 80% even though I have not been awarded the badge yet. Wtf? I also reached my Goodreads goal of 100 books. I'm not sure if I mentioned that in another post. I originally had it set for 150, but dropped it to 100 so I wouldn't be stressed. I'm sitting on 110 books right now. So, yay.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Some NCIS, but that's about it. We did watch Hogfather and Scrooged over Thanksgiving weekend, but we haven't started any other Christmas movies yet.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Nope
Randomness: In this house, I'm in charge of the thermostat. Heaven help you if you touch it.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Putting a beloved pet to sleep is one of the worst things ever. It sucks. However, no matter how much it hurts, be there for your pet when it happens. If at all possible, don't wimp out and leave them alone with strangers. But if you just can't, then at least have something of yours, with your scent on it, there for them.

These are some of the pics I had on Facebook. I have to get my flashdrives and disks out to find older pics and I just don't feel up to it yet.
