Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: This past week was a bit busy, but the one coming up will be busier. Anna will turn 21 on Thursday and hubby will be 50 on Saturday. It's grocery week and everyone has multiple appointments. So, I have nothing planned for the blog.
In other news, my brother Wayne and my oldest son (who is 33 and lives in Ohio) are going to the Cleveland Browns home opener against the Steelers in honor of my dad who was a HUGE Browns fan. Well, he enjoyed all Cleveland sports but the Browns held a special place in his heart. We lost dad on July 4th, so I'm happy my brother was able to get tickets and take my son. I wish I could go, but I'm too far away. I'll live vicariously through them and hope the Browns kick some Steelers ass.
Touching Nature: Hot, hot, hot. Finally some dry weather, but wondering how much TS (soon to be Hurricane) Florence will affect us this week here in the middle of NC. We'll keep a close eye on that and prepare as needed.
Book News: I have 7 book reviews to write. That's about all I have to say. lol
Don't Touch That Dial!: Continuing with CSI (nearly done with season 13) and the Indians. I have watched nothing else.
At the Flicks: The boys want to see The Predator (comes out the 14th), so I'll probably drop them off on the 19th and go read somewhere.
Cyberspace Playground: I am nearly done with Wordscapes and there have been no new levels added. I guess I'll need to find another word game to play. I continue to play Pokémon, but without much enthusiasm lately.
Randomness: RIP Burt Reynolds.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes you just gotta ignore the world and read until your eyeballs fall outta your head.

I was hoping Florence would move her ass out to sea but she is going to get part of NJ also but you all look like she is coming right over top of you. Stay safe! I think there is 3 more behind her. This will be a fun hurricane season.
ReplyDeleteI am glad they are going to the game in honor of your dad. That is just so awesome, I hope they win too! :)
Reading until my eyeballs fall out sounds like a great idea but then you can't read anymore and it's like that Twilight Zone episode "All the Time in the World" and I can't watch that one because it makes me want to cry. All those books!!!
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!
Yes, your nuggets of wisdom are spot on this week! Our weather has been shite. Nothing but shite. Good luck with the busy week ahead my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwww I love that Burt Reynold's picture :( And I just LOVED all of the CSI's. I've watched them all over the years! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your husband and Anna! Busy week ahead for sure. And what a great way to honor your dad's memory with the game, I'm glad they get to go!
ReplyDeleteYour nugget of wisdom is exactly what I need to do right now... if only I could! LOL! Have a great week :)
Happy birthdays! It sounds like it’ll be a busy week. I hope the storm stays away from you. Enjoy your new books!
