--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Holy shit!! Is it Sunday again already?!

On the Home Front: Still a lot going on around here. It's interfering with my reading, blogging and internet slacker time. And jammie time! Anna started classes Monday and I have to drive her to those and pick her back up since her boyfriend is at another campus. She wants to get her license before she turns 19 (Sept 13th), so after some more practice she'll give the test a go. Hopefully she passes because the boys start school next Monday and I'm already sick of being a chauffeur. On top of all the errands and running around I had to keep up with the domestic chores. We're relying too much on take out. It's time to start meal planning and cooking again, no matter how much I despise it.

Touching Nature: Some nature was touched yesterday. Hubby and I trimmed back the trees from the driveway, something that's needed done for awhile now. With the gravel guy bringing us gravel in the next week or so we needed to be sure his dumptruck wouldn't catch any of the overhanging branches as he drove and dumped while going up the drive. We're waiting for word on the tractor. We sent it off to be fixed, so we can use it to scrape the drive first. Also yesterday hubby used the pressure washer to clean the house. It was looking really grody. Needless to say, with the heat and humidity, there was much gross sweating going on. A shower never felt so good.

Book News: I'm slowly getting caught up. I managed to write several reviews, but have many more to do, some from before and I may have finished a few more books. Dammit. I replied to all but the Sunday comments on my blog, but I'll get to those this week. I hope. I also managed to keep my challenge below 30 books behind (currently at 26), so woot to that.

Don't Touch That Dial!: We slipped several episodes of NCIS into the busy days and I have to say we're really loving it. Much funnier than I thought it would be.

At the Flicks:  Saw Star Trek: Beyond and I have to say I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be. I liked it, but...meh.

Cyberspace Playground: I got nothing. I've had very little time to cruise aimlessly on the internet and that shit's got to stop soon or I'll go nutty. Nuttier.

Randomness: This is what happens when you have a kid with photoshop skills. She makes her oldest brother the new sheriff in town. This was 3 yrs ago and it popped up in my Facebook  memories. It's still fucking hilarious. lololol

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Never say, "Oh, I'll remember that." No, you really won't. Write that shit down. Write it all down. Keep those little flippy notebooks everywhere. Car, desk, purse, counter, on your person, everywhere. Trust me on this.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Bwahaha..love the cowboy image. Our temps have been in the 70's all weekend. I am shocked but loving it! Eek..I remember carpooling. I was glad when they all could drive. They can get their license at 16 here.

  2. I love NCIS! I'm glad that your enjoying it. :) I agree with writing things down. I have a school notebook, school sticky notes, reading/writing/blogging notebook, and purse sticky notes. I'm always prepared! Have a good week! :)

  3. LOL That's such a fun picture! It's been sweltering here and my yard work was limited. The pool kept calling to me. LOL And I love lists. I'd be lost without mine. Have them everywhere.

  4. That pic is funny! I love NCIS! :) Glad you are getting a bit caught up on your reviews and such. I hope your daughter gets her license so it will make things a bit more easy for you. I have heard a lot of meh about Star Trek which is a bummer cause I like the new ones so far...will wait till DVD. :)

  5. There is too much work also interfering with my reading, blogging, internet and jammie time. Too much! I hope Anna keeps trying and feels comfortable taking her test! I didn't get my license until I was 22 and it sucked. I remain convinced my mother used it as a ploy so I could never run away and "not look back." (We had dark and ugly years after my sister died.) Relying on others for rides can be the pits, and I'm sure the same is true for being those chauffeurs! I also need to get back in the groove of having a lunch packed and food at home. And actually cooking it.
