AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Today, I must share the best news of all...
Hannah is my cousin's beautiful daughter. I can never remember, does that make her my 2nd cousin? 1st cousin once removed? It's so confusing! LOL Anyway, she needed a bone marrow transplant which, after much searching for as close a match as possible in Be the Match and not finding one, ended up getting one from her daddy. If you're interested you can read about her brave journey at Help for Hannah on Facebook.

On the Home Front: It's December, 2015 is 92% uploaded and Christmas is only 18 days away.
I've done a bit of Christmas shopping, but the bulk of it will be in the next week or so. Then will come the wrapping. *sigh* Other than getting Anna officially signed up for the Spring semester at the local community college (she decided she needed a break after high school, so skipped Fall semester), this week has been pretty quiet.

Touching Nature: Rain sucks. Rain sucks even more when it's cold. Rain bites the big one in December when there are Christmas lights up. So depressing to not have snow this time of year.

Book News: I have some big news regarding the blog, but I haven't decided when to share it. I'm thinking the Sunday Post after Christmas might be a good time. No, I haven't sold the movie rights, but how cool would that be? In other news, my Paperwhite (AKA Stargate) is kaput. R.I.P. my good buddy. I got a really good deal on a refurbished one with a 1-yr warranty, so I took it. It should be here today. I'm thinking of naming it Voyager, but I may change my mind before it arrives. In the meantime, I've been reading on my 1st gen Fire (AKA Portal) or on my Kindle for PC (AKA Bookasaurus). I'm currently 8 books behind on my Goodreads challenge, but I'm still not worried. I also have 8 reviews I need to write which I hope to get done today.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Not a damn thing. Well, other than one Bones episode a day that I watch with Trip before school.

At the Flicks: Not yet, but soon. Soon...

Cyberspace Playground: Star Trek:TNG ~ Make it so...

Randomness:
And this just because...

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I had to give them names. It makes it easier to keep track of them. lol And movie popcorn is the best popcorn ever. I think they put crack in it.

    1. Such a relief! :)

I've had Portal since 2011 and Stargate since 2014. Can't believe it crapped out first. :( *knocks on wood* that nothing happens to Portal. *shudders*

  5. That's fantastic about the transplant!! And you were right with the 1st cousin once removed. For some reason that's one of the few things that I understand but the only good thing about it is I can bore people senseless explaining it.
I'm so sorry abut Stargate. I live in fear mine is going to die and have a mild panic attack every time there's a software update because I'm afraid it's the end. Have a great week!

    1. You know about this stuff? Then what are his kids to my kids? And his kids to my grandkids? LOL

I can't believe Stargate (2014) croaked before Portal (2011). *knocks on wood* that I didn't just jinx it. Mine just froze up on me then wouldn't do a hard reset or even turn off. It was stuck on the kid reading under the tree and there was no coaxing it to do anything else. At least the Cloud saves all the books. Any ebooks I get in email, I send to the Cloud or I just go back to my file or, in the case when my computer croaked in Feb, I get it from the email it came in. Thank goodness I never trash those emails! Being a hoarder does have advantages! :D

  8. That is great news for Hannah! I don't understand the 1st or 2nd cousins so we just call each other cousins lol. I am behind on my Goodreads challenge and I don't think I'll make it but I'm still happy with getting close to my goal. I can't wait to hear your blog news! Have a great week!

  11. Love that Buffy GIF! And that is awesome for your second cousin! It is funny that you asked which it was because I had that very argument with my dad over Thanksgiving. :-) Looks like a ton of good books this week!
