Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Stepson came over to take away the 1998 Ford Ranger we gave him. It needed more work than we wanted to put into it even though we bought new tires and a new clutch just a few years ago. We rarely used it, so why keep it? Timothy is working as a mechanic now, so we figured he could tinker with it.
  • Monday - Worked on blog all day. Kyle grilled burgers for dinner.
  • Tuesday - Vet appt for Rocky where he got a couple shots updated. Worked on blog. Hubby had job interview. I fought with poison ivy and lost. I have itchy spots everywhere. But my wrists are the worst. I was doing ok until I woke up in the middle of the night scratching the shit out of my wrists. Now I have to keep them wrapped.
  • Wednesday - Still too wet outside. Worked some more on the blog. Getting quite the list of drafted posts done. Hubby got call with job offer.
  • Thursday - Grocery pick up. Hubby got call back from Toyota application. Finally. Yeesh. Phone interview Tuesday. Job dilemma! No job prospects for weeks, then a job offer, and now an interview with a potentially better job. Eek.
  • Friday - Sugarcube vet appt. All good. No shots needed. Dinner with friends.
  • Saturday - Regular cleaning and first weekend of the month cleaning. Had hubby put up the 6 blinds I've had since last year when we got new windows. I still need two for the bedroom and a weird size for the kitchen. I may not bother with the kitchen one at all. A storm may roll through later tonight. Cubed steak in the Instant Pot for dinner.
  • Today - If it didn't storm I'll mow then shower then relax. Mississippi pot roast in the Instant Pot is what I'm planning for dinner.

Mom's week: Her birthday was Monday. 86 years young. She's just puttering around and practicing staying out of the sun in prep for chemo infusions starting Weds. Please send all the good juju, posivibes, and prayers you can spare for little to no side effects and it actually helps.

Touching Nature: It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. Ok, not really but it felt like it.

Book News: I have just a few reviews left to write. And so many books to read.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Can't finish Murdoch Mysteries because Acorn TV only has 11 episodes out of 24 for season 16. WTF Canceling that bullshit now.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Zen Match, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: No nuggets this week. Just wonder.

Senja Island, Norway

  1. Happy birthday to your mom, sending good thoughts her way. That stork and baby pic is too funny! Happy reading. Hopefully the poison ivy heals soon.

  2. Good news on the job front! And happy birthday to your mom. I hope her chemo goes well and is successful. And I hope your poison ivy heals. We have quite a bit of it. I think I'm going to hire a service to get rid of it. Love the stork photo! Role Playing has been on my radar for a couple of months, so when I saw it here and realized it was one of the Kindle First Reads picks for June, I went to Amazon and grabbed it. (I've been too busy to keep up with my email, so I hadn't seen the June First Reads line-up.)

    1. Thank you!

You could hire a goat or sheep. They love the stuff. lol

You're welcome! lol I was waffling on the picks but haven't read a rom-com in forever.

  3. Well it was supposed to rain all week and also be hotter but neither really materialized. This week looks warmer without the rain. You seem to be doing great catchup with the blog this week. I'm hoping to do more this week now that my home project support is gone. But I've got plenty to do by myself. I really should have mowed today because it's the coolest this week but I just needed a day.

    1. We did get 2" over the weekend and then a bit here and there during the week, but at least it wasn't humid. I did mow yesterday and it was so nice and cool!

  4. Poison ivy is the worst. I hope it heals up quickly. Happy birthday to your mom and good vibes to your husband on the job search! We've had rain since Friday and it's not letting up until the weekend. So cold and dreary it feels like March.

    1. It's evil. Truly evil.

      Thank you!

Oh, ick. I hope it moves out quickly. We had that rain Memorial Day weekend. It only rained a little bit Saturday night so I mowed yesterday while it was cool. Like, 60º and breezy. Very nice!
