--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: A very wet annoying week where I got a bunch of big & little things crossed off my To Do List and then yesterday we adopted Velvet (a 5-yr-old pitbull mix) from the shelter where she had been lingering for nearly 6 months. She and Vengeance seem to get along ok, but the cats are a whole nuther story. Woo doggie! We will be doing lots of training so she doesn't eat them and they don't plot her demise.
We're going to see Aquaman today then hitting PetSmart for some essentials for her while Alex Velvet sits.

Touching Nature: RAIN! I am fucking sick of it! But yesterday was finally sunny and today is supposed to be, too. Thank the Tea, Book, and Chocolate gods.

Book News: It's been 2019 for nearly a week and I am only 39% into my first book. What a slow start for me! But I've gotten a lot of annoying bullshit done so there is that. In other news: I added a whole shitload of books to my shelves. See below in Shelf Additions. lol

Don't Touch That Dial!: Some more NCIS. We're nearly caught up to the current season. I'm not sure what we'll do after. Probably finish Psych? Maybe? Or start all over with Supernatural since we never got past season 9? Who knows?

At the Flicks: Aquaman is on the menu for today. And popcorn.

Cyberspace Playground: I got caught up on a couple of months worth of Passion of the Nerd videos while I ate dinner one evening. Other than that, nothing.

Randomness: Is he driving one of those Bond-type car-boats?

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Make To Do Lists because I can't tell you how satisfying it is to cross things off it. It's something you need to experience for yourself. Like an orgasm. lol

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. She's going to need a lot of training, but she's a sweetie. Except to the cats. That will be even more training. :) I'm hoping to pick up on the reading soon. Because I need it. lol

  2. Velvet is a cutie! I am sure it will work out, she will come to love the cats. The cats however might still plot her demise.

I hope you have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! xx

    1. I'm still laughing at it. Like, wtf happened?! LOL

I'm all for Spring and it can start right now as far as I'm concerned considering we haven't really had one in forever. One or two days does not a Spring make. Grrrr!

    1. We are having to make major adjustments because she goes right after the cats. Yikes! Otherwise she is doing pretty good.

  6. Velvet is lovely. My daughter wants a new one since we lost Gina in September. I'm not read.

I got the same Kindle first books you did. This week has been more sunny and it was about 70 today!

Enjoy your book haul! Anne - Books of My Heart

    1. We lost Snowy at the end of November. I know some people aren't ready so soon, but we wanted to rescue another dog, like we did Snowy, so here we are. She seems to enjoy us and her new home, but she goes right after the cats, so major adjustments going on. Yowzers!

  7. I haven't got through any books yet either! Don't worry, the years got to get better... It's what I'm continually telling myself!

Velvet is gorgeous! I'm so glad she now has a home.

    1. I finally finished 3 books. Well, I finished two and DNF'd the 3rd but I'll take them. Whew!

She's cute. I just wish she wouldn't try to kill the cats. *sigh*
