--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: This week has been uneventful. I have nothing of significance to report. I'm still stunned it's December already.

Touching Nature: It's been really nice this week. More like October weather. I hadn't lit a fire in the fireplace until last night.

Book News: I did it! I managed 26 books for NetGalley November. Plus, the Charley Davidson book I reviewed on Oct. 31, that makes 27 books whittled off my NetGalley shelf. I started with 55% and I'm now at 69%. I then may have requested a book that I was approved for. *coughs*

Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I finished The Defenders then we started and finished The Punisher. I can only say Wow. After that truly brutal ending we watched the first episode of Arrow. I started it a few years ago, but never got past season 2 and Trip has seen up to season 4, so we're starting at the beginning.

At the Flicks: Saw Justice League last Sunday. Great flick!

Cyberspace Playground: Nothing

Randomness: Me, wondering where 2017 went.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: You should revisit your loans once a year. We went in to see if we could refinance our car and found out we could get a better interest rate on our home equity line of credit, too. It pays to do a financial tune up.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. 26 Netgalley reads! Way to go! I'm so behind and try to ignore the invites in my emails. LOL It was a quiet week for me too and the weather is 70s and gorgeous!

    1. I've done really well ignoring the invites, but when I've been going there daily to post my feedback I was sweating profusely. *must not look at books, must not look at books...* LOL

  2. I am glad it's December, I am looking forward to this year to be OVER!
Weather was nice around here also. It's going to get cold next week, I am looking forward to the cozy weather. I wish we had a fireplace but for now we huddle around the radiator. ;)

Congrats on Netgalley! I actually have one book left to read on there. I am in a slump, I will fix that next year. :)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  4. LOL you requested a book? Well one book shouldn't throw off your numbers. We are warmer but have a few cold days to remind us Mother Nature is a bitch.

  7. You did great with Netgalley! I am working really hard on mine but it doesn't help when I request some...lol. Now that I am using the online library I am hoping to request less and just put them on my library wishlist to get later. :) I shall see how 2018 goes. I really enjoyed the Justice League too! Go Aquaman! He sure doesn't look like my comic character but he was still pretty cool.

    Happy reading!

  8. That's great on your NetGalley progress! I reviewed bout the same number the entire year and only budged 3%. Next year NetGalley is 100% my focus. I have to finish out 2018 with at least 20% so I can keep moving on to that golden 80. You're doing awesome!! Speaking of financials, I am trying to get all my non-loan debt paid off!! I loved when I called my credit union to take out a loan and they refinanced my Jeep at the same time and my payment dropped $70.
