--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Busy, but I did nothing worth reporting. All mundane stuff. Nothing to see here. Carry on.
Touching Nature: More rain and very little sun. Ridiculous much? My garden is like, wtf?! We need sun to grow!
Book News: Went to a party hosted by a local small publisher, Red Adept Publishing who then took us to a Zombie Room Escape. If you've not heard of this most excellent pastime, then you need to check it out. Apparently they're popping up all over the country so Google, my friends, Google! You won't regret it. :D
Other than that, I didn't accomplish much that is book-related. I have 7 reviews to write and I will attempt those today. I also have a few drafts to do. Then I have a ton of books I need to read including a few that are on deadline.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Again with the nothing. This habit is getting out of control! I need me some Sam & Dean, Cas & Crowley!
At the Flicks: Saw Captain America:Civil War last Sunday. Enjoyed it, but not as much as others in the Marvelverse.
Cyberspace Playground: I spent no time playing. Goofing off? Mindlessly wandering? Yes. But nothing worth sharing. lol
Randomness: Trip and I came up with the idea, Anna's boyfriend added the Skittles© and Anna generated the picture. I LOVE IT! LOLOL
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: The day you decide to make a quick trip out in your jammies will be the day that your car will break down or get a flat. So, always wear regular clothes before leaving the house and your car will be fine.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

From the library
I've only been waiting nearly a YEAR for this to come in.
Yeesh!
Still waiting on Volumes 6 & 8
Come on! Come on!
Freebies
Free at time of drafting.
Stop, look, listen.
Gotta love those freebies! I really need to catch up with the Sandman series. Well, maybe start over since it's been years.
ReplyDeleteStacy Renee @ Lazy Day Literature
I might have gone a bit overboard on the freebies. Key word "might." LOL
DeleteI've heard of those escape rooms and they come with different themes don't they?
ReplyDeleteI'm three reviews behind and that's bad enough for me. A couple of those books were quite similar so I'm a tad worried they'll get muddled in my mind!
I've heard there's some sort of spy one. I'm sure there are more. :D
Delete*whispers* I still haven't written my reviews. *slaps forehead*
I love escape rooms. I went to one with friends a view months ago.. Really so much fun.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and Happy Reading! ;)
They so are! I want to do more of them. :D
DeleteIs your nugget like getting pants or buying the kids boots so it wont snow? Because we totally failed at that and caused that huge snow storm. I will remember to leave the house with pants on...regular pants/jeans..I always have pants on...hahaha...not going to go outside in my underpants....that would be silly.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to try an escape room but not with zombies... they scare the crap out of me...maybe I can do an escape room with a bunny...foul creatures bunnies...with nasty big pointy teeth...
I have 3 reviews left to write and I plan to write them today...maybe... we will see how the day goes. :D
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! *hugs*
Yes. I told you to get those boots. You brought all that snow on yourself. lololol
DeleteThey have other kinds or so I've heard. Someone mentioned a spy one. And the zombie one has a quarantine room where you can observe and shout out instructions, but it's hard to see the whole room. At least you're safe from the zombie in there. lol
I *still* have those reviews to write. Dammit. *sigh*
Thanks for the hugs. I needed them. :) xoxo
I've read some wonderful authors through Red Adept and those rooms sound so fun! I want all of these books. LOL We sure like the same stuff! Hope the sun shines on you this week:)
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
They have such awesome books and a lot coming out this late Summer/early Fall so be ready! :D No sun yet, but the next few days are *supposed* to be sunny. We'll see...
DeleteThat zombie thing sounds interesting so I will have to look it up. Hope you get to sit back and relax and enjoy your favorite guys on TV. I am so sick and tired of rain, we are suppose to have storms all week. My plants need water but not a flood. :(
ReplyDeleteHappy reading,
Stormi
Week in Review
It's a lot of fun, but I recommend a bunch of people so some can distract the zombie while others figure out the clues. I think there's a higher success rate for bigger groups.
DeleteMy plants are desperate for sun. I have a feeling we won't have much of a crop this year. :(
Oh man! I need to read Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics someday! here's my Sunday Post: http://rabbitearsbookblog.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-sunday-post-meme-45.html
ReplyDeleteThey're hit or miss, but overall I enjoy them. :)
DeleteThe escape room was a lot of fun. I am glad I got to go with you.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun! We should take the kids and watch them get eaten. Mwahahaha!!
DeleteOh no, hope your poor garden gets some sun soon. lol - that SLJ meme. Very funny! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIf the forecast is correct *snorts* then we should have a couple of days this week to dry out. *fingers crossed* I thought it was hilarious. I didn't expect it to turn out so good. I thought it would be cheesy. lol
