AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Home Front: First half of week: calm, last half: frenetic. Thurs, Fri and yesterday we were getting things ready for Jessica's move into her very first apartment. Yesterday was the lease signing and actual move in. For having lived here only 6 months she had a lot of stuff back in her bedroom. LOL After we moved all that over we had to go shopping for stuff she'd need to outfit a first pad. So it was to Anna's Linens and Walmart we went. We were on the go all day yesterday and my 47-yr-old out-of-shape body is reminding me why I need to get exercising. Yeesh! Then as I was relaxing with hubby on the couch around 10pm she called, frantic, that her lights went out, she couldn't get them back on, it was really dark and she was scared. Well, shit. First night and she's already traumatized. So we went over with a flashlight (wtf, how did we forget to get a flashlight??) and a breaker had flipped. She had looked in the breaker box, but didn't see it. Anyway, we got them back on and the rest of the night was quiet. :)
Touching Nature: The only touching was to prop up our corn which took a beating when we got a torrential downpour with high winds. We also had to repair the driveway which is gravel and comes down to the house at about a 30º angle. Whenever we get a really hard rain, the gravel washes. And this time it was a right mess. Seriously. It was a team effort with everyone out there shoveling, wheelbarrowing and raking. Again, my 47-yr-old body said WTF?! And it continues to be HOT. Gah!
Book News: I continue to write reviews as I finish the book, except for the one I finished Thurs and haven't had time to write it with all the running around. It'll get done this week. I'm also currently 22 books behind on my challenge.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Hubby & I are finally on Season 10 of CSI:Miami. We're ready to move on to something else. He binged Longmire and now he's binging on Murdoch Mysteries. I haven't really been watching with him, but I do like the theme music for MM. Kinda catchy. When I had a rare evening where the living room was free I decided to try Charmed. I'm not impressed yet, but I'm told it gets better. We have not advanced on the Supernatural front. Been too busy for hubby, Trip and I to sit down together.
At the Flicks: Nothing this week.

No time this week to list the ones I grabbed.
They were mostly monster porn though. lol
Oh the poor girl! One year the light went out in like the entire town and we didn't have many flashlights ever since my mom for christmas got us a lantern, I now have 5 lanterns if the lights go out lol now you know what to get her for xmas :)
ReplyDeleteI have now got behind on reviews again, I have 3 to write which isn't bad but still I need to write them soon so I don't get way behind.
Charmed is good, I wasn't a fan of Shannon Daughty but it does get better as the series goes on. I was sad it ended.
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!
We have candles everywhere and plenty of flashlights, but that was something we totally forgot about for her. *smh*
DeleteI now have 2. Not too bad. :)
I haven't watched anymore yet, but I may. I really dislike Doherty. *grimace*
Love that ST gif, hee hee, but I think the tribbles might be insulted. I love Murdoch Mysteries, so good.
ReplyDeleteI bet Jessica is grateful to have you all and everything you do. :)
Poor tribbles. hehehe
DeleteShe's a great kid. Oops. I mean, young lady. :)
What a coincidence... I've got an out-of-shape 47yr old body as well! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI watched the first couple seasons of Charmed but it really didn't do it for me I'm afraid!
Out-of-shape 47-yr-olds Unite! lol
DeleteI'm hoping it gets better.
Sounds like a hectic last couple of days! :) I love Longmire and Murdock Mysteries! :)
ReplyDeleteI should really sit and watch those with him, but I catch bits and pieces when he does. Good enough, right? :)
DeleteI would have freaked out if the lights went out, I hope she does enjoy her new place though!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a busy week and my out of shape 36 year old body sympathises!
Have a a great week!

She's loving it so far. :)
DeleteSure wish reading books counted as exercise. That would be like the ultimate. lol
