AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
First, the weather. Sunday was in the 50s. Almost all of last week's snow/ice was gone by the time we headed out to Kyleigh's party. Then early Tuesday morning we got a surprise 1" of snow and the roads were slick, so school was cancelled. Winter storm Remus was bearing down on us Weds and after a 3-hr dental app't for Jessica (what a trooper!) I rushed around getting things ready in case it was a right nasty one. Luckily, we got a really nice snowfall overnight instead. It was actual snow with no ice, about 6" depending on where we measured and very little wind. It was very pretty. I saw was, but it has been hanging around with very little melting. School was cancelled Thurs and Fri as the South is just not equipped to clear the roads fast enough and some places got up to 8" of the white stuff. Unheard of for NC. We loved it. LOL Unfortunately, we have ice/freezing rain this morning (blerg) but a forecast of 70º on Weds. I think Mother Nature needs new meds.
February is officially over and we are 1/6 done with 2015. I read 22 books for the month and I have to say I was disappointed in many of them. I'm so bummed right now. I need some comfort books/authors to read and get my spirits back up.
My internet continues to be shitty. AT&T sucks the big, hairy, sweaty donkey balls. I've finally replied to comments left on the blog, but I haven't been able to do much visiting. It takes forever to get anything done on the internet. We may not be able to game with satellite, but I bet streaming Netflix would work, so I'm going to call a few satellite companies and see if that's an option now that the technology is better. This is another reason I'm so bummed. It's so fucking frustrating! Grrrr!
To wrap things up, the month of February has been pretty shitty and I'm glad to kick its ass to the curb. I hope that March will be much better. *fingers crossed*

I like the cover for Untaken but I think it might be too slow for me looking at other reviews. I hope you enjoy your books this week!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm hoping to start a couple good ones. :)
DeleteThe Curse Servant and Taken look pretty cool. I would be pulling my hair out over the slow connection. The snow sounds pretty though. Let us hope March is better all around from books to the donkey balls.
ReplyDeleteThe internet situation is so depressing. *sigh* Anyway, hopefully there will be no donkey balls in March. :D
DeleteMother Nature totally need something because she's confusing the hell out of me. I laugh that one inch of snow and you all cancel school but I totally get it that snow isn't a common thing for you all. lol
ReplyDeleteTaken by a toaster.....I....why would.....I....Enjoy all your new reads! :)
Have a great week Carol! Hope march is much better month for you ox
I agree. It's like...wut?! Stahp, Mother Nature. Just, stahp. lol
DeleteHehehehehehe
Thanks and I hope so, too. :)
The weather is insane. Half our neighborhood is snow free and half still thick in it. On on the thick side (darn all those trees). And with the ice today it's mean. I can't wait for the 70 degree day this week. I plan on being outside as much as possible. Whew!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the internet this week. Grrs and args!
Most of the snow is gone now. But the mud? Ick! We need a load of gravel for our drive. It's a mess.
DeleteInternet still sucks. Grr and argh!
Every one of books is my kind of reading. I want them all! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got a lovely snowfall without that frozen stuff. I live on the gulf coast so we didn't get and snow but a lot of rain and strong winds. It's warming up again now so I guess that means rain soon.

LOL Then grab them. I'm such an enabler. :D
DeleteWe're supposed to be 74º Weds and then get a wintry mix on Thurs. Mother Nature is seriously messed up.
Enjoy your new reads! I seen that Toaster one around and some how knew you would end up with it. :)
