AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Holy shit! It got cold last night! Yes, 41º is cold considering the temps have been fairly mild for awhile now. For the last few weeks I've had the windows open even at night. Not last night! I left our bedroom windows cracked open about 2", but eveything else was closed up. It was only in the 60s yesterday and the girls were watching movies in the livingroom all wrapped up in blankets since I had the windows open and the fans going because hubby had scrubbed the carpets. Funny tidbit: we rented a machine from the grocery store. Hubby grabbed the handle of the thing, started to wheel it out and said, "Come on, R2." Well, it was short and squat. hehe

It's been a busy week, but thinking back I didn't do anything that would be worth sharing. LOL Ok, other than we did a lot of baking last Sunday and yesterday. Much nommy noms! Such deliciousness! Wow! We had the boys move some old wood piles on Friday while we were building a ramp to the new shed and when Trip got to the bottom of one pile...there was a copperhead! Yep. First one I've ever seen. I'm glad no one got bit. That was the 2nd snake of the day. We had a visit from a green grass snake earlier.

In other news, the Halloween decorations are going up today, there may be a bonfire at some point, our granddaughter is supposed to be coming for a visit and football. Another busy day and because of internet issues I'm a bit late getting it started. I hope everyone has a lovely day!

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. There was no screaming, but there was a very loud "WOAH! Copperhead!"

It was very nipply in the house this morning. Good thing it's only supposed to get down to 56º tonight instead of the 41º it's been the last two nights. I really didnt' want to turn on the heat yet. lol

  3. R2... that's funny. So you're in the 40's too huh? We've had a cold rainy weekend, and 40's but it feels pretty cold, with the wind and everything else. Hello fall! :)

    1. Ikr. I had to laugh. :D It was 60s daytime, 40s at night. We're supposed to get back up to 70s/50s starting today. I'll take it and hope it sticks around awhile.

  5. Baking - nommy; Snakes - no thank you; bonfire - yay!

I actually closed my living room window the other night and one of the cats was freaking out. He actually tried climbing up the window, hoping to find it was open. :D He's gonna be an uhappy boy when winter hits and the windows are closed for months. :D

I'm impressed with your restraint at getting books; could you share it with me? I seriously need some restraint. smh

    1. There's a cycle of sugar high and crashes going on around here. LOL The green snake was cute and he's harmless. The copperhead though...no, no, no!

I had the bedroom windows open again last night, but it was definitely chilly in the house this morning. Very nipply as I usually say. Thankfully it's warming up. i really didn't want to turn on the heat yet.

Restraint hell. I have no restraint. I just had no time this week to make with the grabby hands. And that's my secret. LOL

  6. I had a snake encounter this weekend too. I brought in a plant from outside. Looked like it needed some TLC and out crawled a tree sanke. Looked just like a tree banch until it moved. Sneaky thing. That copperhead looks like it was sleepy. Lucky for all of you.
I enjoyed the weather too. Actually got to open some windows without the humidity making everything sticky. The pool was cold too. Had to get in to get leaves out. But the sun warmed me quickly and I enjoyed some time on the back porch reading.

    1. It crawled out in the house?! I don't mind snakes outside, but they need to stay outside. lol I think it was more scared of us than we were of it and we were tearing unknowingly apart it's safehouse. Yeep!

  8. In theory snakes don't both me but coming across them unexpectedly will have me screaming like a little girl. Definitely don't like coming across a copperhead. I love baking though I haven't done too much of it lately. Have a great week and hopefully no more poisonous snakes!

    1. There was much excitement. I hope that was the only copperhead around. I really don't want to encounter another one.

  10. Eeek! I hate snakes, we have to watch out for them where I live also. Thankfully I haven't seen any near my place. Driven over a one or two but that's as close as I've got. Hope you have a good week, enjoy your new reads and thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. I don't mind them unless they're venomous. That's the first time I've been up close and personal with a venomous snake and I don't particularily want to be so again. lol
