AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

I hit my 500th post on July 27th and completely forgot to mention it. D'oh! I'm now at 510.

So, it looks like Monster Porn Monday is a success. I have more hits than usual for that post. I love my pervy followers! *snickers* I'm sussing out the ones for the 9/1 post now and I'm also considering posting twice a month starting after the New Year.

The rain started Friday and it's supposed to stick around through Tuesday. Yes, we need it and the cooler weather is nice, but I didn't get the lawn mowed first. Oh, dear. I may need to rent it to some grazers before attempting to mow. Outside-related news...we have tomatoes turning red. Finally! Woot!

I have really buckled down this week and gotten caught up on my reviews. I have two books left for August and I can get started on September.

There are now two weeks left before school starts and the kids  are starting to get that shell-shocked look.

In other news...I got nothin'. Since I was so busy getting shit done on the blog I haven't really done anything else and that includes adding books to my shelves. I still need 6~99¢ books for my September Challenge, but I'll look on Amazon some time this week and see what I find. If you have any recs please feel free to drop 'em in the comment box.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I just looked at a .99 book - maybe CRACKS IN THE ARMOR by Helena Hunting?

    1. That looks like it would be really good, but people have said in their reviews that it abruptly ends. Not a fan of those kinds of endings, but I'll put it in my wishlist to read with the series. Thanks! :)

  3. I saw Pandora yesterday and wasn't sure I should get it but I might have to go back and look again because that's a lot of books for .99

I can't believe the kids go back to school already the weather in NJ has been so weird I feel like summer hasn't even really started yet. As much as I love them home (I really do Lol) I look forward to them going back just for the routine.

    Congrats on your 500th Post!!!

Have a great week Carol and Happy Reading!!

This summer hasn't felt like summer at all. So weird. I agree though. I love 'em, but I love a regular routine, too. lol

  8. Yay on the tomatoes! It's so exciting when they finally start to turn. My kids went back this past week except for the preschooler who starts tomorrow and college student who goes moves back in to the dorms next weekend. I may have to throw myself a celebratory breakfast with a book next Monday when I fully have the house to myself again! Have a great week!

    1. I'm looking forward to reading it. I'm so happy to be so far aheadin my posts. I've really worked at it so I'm not rushing around at the last minute anymore. It helped to take July off, too. :) Oh, my...I didn't look at it like that. I wonder how time I've actually put into posting that many times. O.o lol

  13. Sounds like a good, productive week! I wish I was caught up on all my books for review. Maybe if I stopped requesting new ones or signing up for new tours, I would get caught up... :)

    Have a great week!

    1. I have that same exact problem! lol If I can just stay ahead and write my reviews as soon as I finish a book then I should be ok. Maybe. It's hard fighting my Procrastinating gene though. :D

  14. LOL Excellent use of gifs - I recognize those looks on my stepson's face. He had his freshman orientation yesterday and he looks less than excited to have to seriously think about school starting soon.

Yes - Monster Porn Monday was excellent... for those pervy followers, whoever they might be ;) *snickers back*

I just noticed that one of my absolute favorite books is available for $0.99! It's Crimson NIght by Marie Hall. You should totally grab it ;)

    1. That reminds me that I haven't rec'd anything about Freshman orientation or their schedules and school starts the 25th. Dafuq is wrong with our school system?!

Ah, MPM is definitley a hit. hehe

I ran to look and realized I picked it up for free back in March. So, it doesn't qualify for the 99¢ Challenge, but I can add it to a Freebie Friday post. :D Thanks!
