2025 Book Round Up

This year hasn't been my worst year in terms of numbers. That award goes to 2023 with 55 books. This year I had 60 books read (or listened to) including five re-reads on my birthday. Unfortunately, I have 54 reviews to write (some from 2024 *cringe*), so you'll see nearly all without links for now. Eeek! 

2025 has been another year to remember. Mostly in a good way. My brothers and I sold the family farm (very sad) and I used my inheritance to pay for my divorce and do some major renovations to my house. From February until November we've had work going on and while it's been very stressful, it has turned out gorgeous. I absolutely love what's been done! And hopefully, 2026 means I will have more time to read. AND write reviews. 

Anyway, 60. Not as bad a year as I thought I would have only because I listened to audiobooks from Chirp when driving my son to and from work. About 45 minutes a day (M-F and some Saturdays) when I'm alone in the car. Then Anna started working at the same place in October and my audiobook listening went down to nothing. Except when he had to go in early and she didn't.

2024 Book RoundUp

This year hasn't been my worst year in terms of numbers. That award goes to 2023 with 55 books. This year I had 81 books read (or listened to) including two re-reads on my birthday. Unfortunately, I have 24 reviews to write, so you'll see many without links for now. Eeek! I'm hoping to whittle that number down in the next few days or so. 

2024 has been another year to remember and not in a good way. Early in the year I discovered some shit about my husband and decided enough was enough. Though he didn't know that until October when things came to a head and I kicked him out. 

Anyway, 81. Not as bad a year as I thought I would have only because I started listening to audiobooks from Chirp when driving my son to and from work. About 45 minutes a day (M-F and some Saturdays) when I'm alone in the car.

2023 Book RoundUp

 

This year has been my worst year yet in terms of numbers. 55 books read (or listened to) including two re-reads on my birthday and 3 re-listens of audiobooks when my husband decided he wanted to listen to the Orphan X series by Gregg Hurwitz after I had already listened to 4 books and he listened to book 2 with me. 

2023 has been a year to remember and not in a good way. I spent countless hours driving from our home in North Carolina to my childhood home in Ohio (8 hrs one way) when mom was going through chemo and then after she died in July, I was there about every other weekend helping my brothers and sis-in-law sort through 55 yrs worth of stuff on the farm. Luckily, we had done quite a lot of that after dad died in 2018. But it was still a fuckton of work. And exhausting. But it's done. 

Anyway, 55. That is my lowest number since I've been keeping track (2012). I've essentially read 1 book for every year I've been on this planet which I think is an interesting way to look at it. I have several reviews yet to write and they will be indicated by RTC.
