Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front
I was very bad this week. Even though I have a task on Finch to remind me to update my Sunday Post daily, I ignored it. Just a blah week.
Sunday ~ Puttered around. Read some. I don't really remember what I did. It is still very slippery with ice/snow outside. Anna went out with Shelby and another friend to get their nails done and grab some dinner. The boys and I had leftover steak and I made homemade mac-n-cheese.
Monday ~ Trip and I went to Food Lion to get a few things, mainly the fixins to make burritos for dinner. I picked up a couple of steaks and some hot dogs. Then I talked Kyle into grilling them. Hot dogs and leftover mac-n-cheese for dinner and the steaks for burritos tomorrow. Still too much ice/snow out there.
Tuesday ~ Puttered around and moved stuff in the office so the electrician can get to my wall on Thursday. Anna had some leftovers to eat, so the boys and I had pizza. The slippery shit is starting to melt. Yay!
Wednesday ~ Worked on craft area, getting things out of the way of the electrician for tomorrow. Finally had burritos for dinner. More and more of the white stuff oozing away into the ground.
Thursday ~ Electrician came to run 2 internet cords under the house from where the T-Mobile tower is in the craft area. 1 goes back to Anna's room since the wifi really doesn't reach there and the other goes to my office because the wifi keeps dropping there. So, now we're wired up and no more stepping on or tripping over the fucking cords. Yay! He also put an outlet up high where I have the tower on top of a bookshelf. So the tower and switch is plugged in and I don't need to run a surge protector/extension cord now. I love it!
Friday ~ Trip and I got prescriptions, groceries, Valentine's Day stuff, and presents for Kyleigh's upcoming birthday (CVS, Five Below, BJ's, Walmart, Academy Sports, Food Lion) and dropped a couple of boxes and 2 prom dresses off at Hospice Thrift Store. We also played some Pokémon GO. We had lunch at Dairy Queen then before we left Kyle wanted me to pick up a Blizzard cake with his points since they keep expiring. And he has a LOT of points. So I got a 10" chocolate chip cookie dough cake. Came home, put stuff away, then placed an order to pick up at Texas Roadhouse. I figured it would be less busy on Friday than tomorrow/Valentine's Day. Picking up at 5:00 instead of 4:30 was a big mistake. They were busy and my text at 5:05 said my order was ready, but we didn't get it until 5:30. Ugh. And WHY, for the love of little piggies, do they ALWAYS forget Kyle's bacon bits for his steak fries?! Every fucking time! Watched The Mentalist until midnight because I just didn't feel tired enough to go to bed.
Saturday ~ Up at 8:30. Fed the furries and walked the dogs. Put out the Valentine's Day baskets for the kids. They got me some chocolate. Yum! Then Kyle said Anna wanted us to take flowers to Shelby at work for Valentine's Day. Why am I only now hearing about this when Anna apparently talked to Kyle about it 3 days ago?! Gah! Kids! Anyway, Shelby broke up with an asshole guy not long ago. Thank goodness and about time. Anna had to go into work at 5am, so I grabbed Trip and Kyle and I sent Kyle into Food Lion to get flowers then we dropped them off to Shelby at work. We played some Pokémon and before driving down to the house, I had the boys help me gather up the loose pine cones at the top of the drive. 3 buckets helped fill my can on the back deck. I use them as fire starters in the wood burning stove. I cleaned the laundry room and Kyle did the litterboxes. Then I cleaned my bathroom followed by a shower. Anna broke up with her long distance boyfriend DJ. She's sad, but it was amicable. Fed the furries and my outside critters. I worked on this post until 6:30 then had Texas Roadhouse leftovers for dinner. We'll have enough leftovers for dinner tomorrow, too because I ordered an extra steak with sides. That's 3 days I don't have to cook. Woot!
Today I want to read, but first I need to write up a couple of book reviews. It's supposed to rain all day, so sounds like a good day to laze about. I might go to CVS to see if the VD chocolate is on sale. lol
New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Not really. In a funk.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ No. Very lazy this week.
Tidy up outside ~ No. Too muddy with all the melting.
Touching Nature: It warmed up and the snow/ice finally melted away. YAY! We even reached 70ºF on Wednesday! I am more than ready for Spring.
Book News:
Don't Touch That Dial!: The Mentalist and the Olympics. I love the Winter Games. Summer? Meh.
At the Flicks: Nope.
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.
Randomness: Diversity is our strength.
Randomness: Diversity is our strength.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: After a shower, pat your skin dry. Don't rub. And be particularly gentle with the delicate skin around your eyes and eyelids. After you are mostly dry, moisturize. In the winter this is especially important. My heels crack in the winter and I have to use the super special greasy Palmer's stuff for them then put cotton socks on.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
From Thriftbooks
Thriftbooks is evil! Not really.
I just keep earning a free book, so when I pick one
I think, "Well, that book is gonna be lonely shipping here all by itself.
Need to order a traveling companion."
Next thing I know...another free book earned!
Anyway, here's what came this week. There's more coming next week. lmao
Behind Closed Doors (free)
Chirp
I held out until the Friday Freebies. lmao
