Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ I honestly don't remember what I did. I think I worked a bit in the kitchen then did nothing the rest of the day.

Monday ~ Andrew and Larry set the cupboards in the laundry room. I worked on many boxes for the kitchen.

Tuesday ~ Flooring guys came and did the laundry room. It looks so nice! Countertop guy came to do the template for the countertop. It's not real big so that didn't take him and his nifty laser very long. Picked Kyle up at 10:30. We stopped at Harbor Freight for a 3-step stepstool to reach the top shelf in the pantry and the hall closet (yes, I'm short and the 2 step wasn't tall enough and the regular ladder too large), did the usual Dairy Queen run then headed home. We had about an hour before he needed to be at the app't to get his results from his ADHD and autism testing. We went to that and he's been diagnosed with both as well as depression and anxiety.

Wednesday ~  Andrew and Larry trimmed the laundry room then painted it. Tim and Josh were by to install can light and one of the under cabinets lights. I had Tim hook up the under cabs to a switch by the door from the hallway because there was never a switch there. We had to walk through a dark room to get to the switch for the ceiling light (which I had them change to a can light) on the opposite wall by the door. Like, wtf. Who does that? I ran to CVS and picked up a few things and got my pneumonia shot. The wasband stopped to pick up his mail and a few things. I had him take a small box of things to drop at Habitat for Humanity Restore which is just down the road from his place. Easier for him to do than me. I also called the lawyer to see what was the next step in the divorce since it's been a year. There are several ways to go about it and one way is for the wasband to keep me on his insurance. So I'm going to consult with the attorney on Dec 2nd, but until then we are still technically married and I still have insurance which I was really stressing about. I finally finished unpacking boxes for the kitchen and got everything put away. The pantry is pretty full, but as we use up some of the extra stuff it'll be easier to find things. Larry had to leave for an appt't so Andrew had Tim and Josh help him bring the washer and dryer in. The hot water hook up was leaking, so it was turned off. I usually only use cold anyway. Anna's clothes got washed first because she was out of underwear. lol

Thursday ~ Took Trip to his psych appt in Greensboro at 8:30 then we grabbed breakfast at Waffle House before making a quick stop at Food Lion for a few things. Andrew finished trimming the skylight in the kids bathroom. That's been needing done since Phase I, but figured it would be one of those things on the final To Do List. Thomas was here to fix the leaky hot water hook up on the washer. He replaced both so they are both new and non-leaking. I basically spent the rest of the day doing laundry (towels, towels, and more towels) and lazing around. I was so tired from the day before. The dumpster was also picked up.

Friday ~ Had the yearly mammogram then went to Krispy Kreme for Halloween donuts and evil Walmart for a few things I can only get there. Got home in time for Andy's brother Brian and their dad to come and do the doors and hardware for the laundry room. And they had the drawer for my potatoes and onions. Andy was waiting for the mesh front to come in. So, the kitchen is officially finished. Well, except for a few paint touch ups. I worked on this post, changed the sheets on my bed, and folded my clothes. We had Bojangles for dinner since we were short on time. Mr. Puggles had a 4:15 app't with an eye specialist in Greensboro and Anna got home late from work. I may have used the crime lane to get there on time. That took forever and we were way late getting home. I fed the dogs then got the food and Anna and Trip took off with theirs to do Halloween with the grandkiddos. Kyle left work at 1:00 with friends to go have drinks because one was leaving. He came home drunk. He told Trip he only had 3 drinks but he does not drink and he never eats a decent lunch. Also, he really shouldn't be drinking with the meds he takes. He was in bed before 10pm. Anna and Trip were home around 11. Took the dogs out, put them to bed, then I went to bed.

Saturday ~ Up a bit late, about 8:30. I spent the day cleaning, organizing the laundry room (not done yet), and moving boxes out of the living room in prep for moving in furniture I brought from the farm. Finally! The boys put together 4 desks and 1 bookcase. As I work on this post it is 10pm and they are working on another bookcase. Anna put together the entry bench/organizer and is working on one of the bookcases.  I made spaghetti for dinner.

I tried explaining how this set up would look and they weren't getting it.
I even drew it on the white board.
Finally I said, "Just build me 2 rights and 2 lefts, for fuck's sake." lol

Kyle called this a Guillotine and now they are all calling it that.
Also, I need to dig out my November curtain.

Desks, curio cabinet, and 1 bookcase in place.

Today I hope to move the tea cart and entertainment center my dad made in from the small shed. I'm hoping very hard that mice did not get into it. Then I'd like to move the stuff out of my bedroom, including the china cabinet. That leaves the oak secretary that's in Trip's soon-to-be room. We already moved out his curio cabinet which I cleaned up. What a pain in the ass that was since it's all glass and mirrors. Ugh.

Construction News ~  Monday, nothing is planned so Trip and I will probably make a BJ's run. Maybe also Five Below. Then I'll do more organizing. Maybe. Maybe I'll just rest. Tuesday the countertop for the laundry room is scheduled and the backsplash for Weds. Thursday should be tying up all the loose ends (plumbing, electrical, touch ups, etc.), making the laundry room renovation nearly as long as the rest of Phase II. lol

Touching Nature:  Definitely Fall weather. Leaves are falling, temps are in the 60s/70s during the day and 40s at night. Although it rained most of this week, so it was chilly and rainy. Yuck. Leafageddon Battle I & II has been won. But Battle III is waiting. Driveway Point is overrun with the Leafy Horde and, despite Gusty Winds, a battalion seems to have become entrenched on Gutter Guard Plains.

Book News:  I've literally read nothing this week.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Working my way through my Buffy rewatch. I'm in the final season now.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:   Came across this gem just as I was sorting boxes of junk, I mean stuff. Important stuff. Especially an Oregon Trail CD. lmao

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Everyone should know how to use basic tools. Even power tools, like drills and saws. Especially drills. They come in handy all the time.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I did not have time this week to link my purchases.
However, I should have time this coming week.
While I did delete every email this week without even opening them,
I did open the Friday Freebies and purchased two bundles for under $8.
