Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front
Sunday ~ It is Mother's Day. I did nothing. I have plenty of work I could do, but I restrained myself. I woke up a bit late. Kyle bought us Biscuitville for breakfast. I puttered around the interwebs for a bit. Around 1:00ish we went down the road to a newish ice cream place and I settled on 2 scoops of cotton candy ice cream on a sugar cone. And when I finished that I got a small dish of dark chocolate raspberry truffle to go. Came home, put my jammies back on, and finished watching Thor, that I started the night before, while I ate my ice cream. After feeding the dogs and Trip walked them I opened his present since Anna's is running late (due Thursday) and George's came Friday - Shari's Berries (holy shit, so goooood!), and Kyle's was all the food. Dinner was leftover Texas Roadhouse, which was just as delicious the next day as it was yesterday. Anna and I watched Avengers and then Iron Man 3 before I went to bed. Lots of rain.
Monday ~ Everyone overslept. Kyle is back on OT, but for some reason he woke up late. He's never been late. Either he forgot to reset his alarm or he slept through it. Anyway, he was supposed to be at work at 5am, but we left at 4:55. Oops. Got him there at 5:20 so he'll work until 4pm to get his 10 hrs in. I went back to bed when I got home though I vaguely remember Anna's alarm going off like 3 times. Then I woke up at 8:30 to a text from the contractor that he was outside and the framing inspector would be showing up soon as well as the electricians. Gah! I hate waking up late. It makes my whole day feel rushed. So, framing passed inspection, and electrical passed Friday, but the inspector wanted another outlet in the new living room so that's why the electricians were here. They did their thing in about 15 minutes and were off again. lol Contractor texted that he managed to get the insulation guys to come tomorrow. Yay! Even more rain.
Tuesday ~ The insulation guys came in and did their thing. The contractors guys were here working on the floor of Anna's bedroom. The new addition is slightly higher than the original structure, so they have to build up that floor to it. It's not anyone's fault. It appears that that end of the house settled a touch more than we anticipated, so the new masonry was a bit higher. Wasn't actually much we could have done about that. So they will build it up. Annoying but fixable. The drywall guy was here to to see how much drywall he would need and to see which way around the house they wanted to go to get to the back where it needs to be. Insulation inspection called in for tomorrow. Rain then sun then rain then sun. Ma Nature can't make up her mind.
Wednesday ~ Rocky had a tech appointment at the vet to get his 3 yr rabies vaccination. He was a good boy. Picked up Subway for dinner later. Insulation passed inspection. Worked on the blog and blog related stuff all day.
Thursday ~ Drywall delivered at 7:00am and got stuck for a bit. I was going to sleep until 8:00, but oh well. Contractor stopped by with donuts from N.C. Jelly as an apology for early wake up. Trip and I have never had them, but Anna and Kyle said management gets them occasionally where they work. They work at totally different places and I had no idea these donuts were so popular. They are the size of my head and wow! Are they delicious. Sugar coma though. Then Trip ate one that Anna called dibs on (I sent a pic in our group text). So he owes her one. I spent the day getting caught up on adulting. I hate adulting. I need a Premium Adult to adult for me. Part of the adulting was being on chat with Verizon for nearly 2 hours getting credits that should have been happening all along. And I may still check out T-Mobile since they have a discount for people over 55 and Verizon only has that for Florida which is such fucking bullshit. I've been with Verizon since the 1990s. I started out with a pager, for fucks sake. But I will drop their ass if T-Mobile is cheaper. I already have T's home internet. Verizon can't be bothered with our area apparently. Anyway, the Hurricanes beat the Crapitals!! Yay! We won Round 1 & 2. Just waiting to see who we play (Toronto or Florida) to go on for the chance at the Stanley Cup. Contractor's guys came to move drywall to additions and I asked if they could put my mantel pieces in my trailer because whoa, they are bitchin' heavy. They did. They are so nice!
Friday ~ 2nd wake up at 7:00 to feed the furries and walk the dogs. Then Trip and I hooked up the trailer to the Pilot and headed out into the assend of nowhere to drop off the mantel pieces to be kiln-dried. That will take care of any creepy crawlies still making the wood their home. Guy said it should take 5 days. Then we headed home, dropped off the trailer and hit Waffle House cuz we hungry. Then Anna saw on Life360 that we were there and we were busted. lol So I took her lunch then Trip and I stopped at Office Depot to look at desks, Harbor Freight (right next door) to see if any tools were on sale, then hit BJ's for groceries and gas, the pet store, and finally Food Lion. We got home around 2:00ish. Unloaded groceries, Trip took dogs for a potty break, I put away perishables then it was time to head out to pick up Kyle. Traffic was bad on the way home, so after picking up some Dairy Queen we went back roads the rest of the way. What a long ass day! I fell asleep on the couch.
Saturday ~ Up at 6:00am so I could hit N.C. Jelly for Round 2 of sugar comas. I managed to get the one Anna wanted then just did an assortment. They open at 6:00, I got there around 6:30 and the case was nearly half empty! Boy, talk about selling out quick! I came home and started the cleaning. I worked all day on the usual cleaning and a bunch of laundry then decided it was past time to do a shelf and cupboard deep clean in my bathroom. I threw a bunch of shit out, sorted out some stuff belonging to the wasband, washed, and tidied everything up. Since Anna is sleeping in my room she's moved some of her stuff to my bathroom, which makes sense. It's right there and easy for her. It's all tidy now and looks good. I finally got a shower around 6pm. My back and feet hurt sooooooo bad. Ugh. Then I worked on this post so I can go get something to eat. It's 8:45 and I just want to stuff my face and put my feet up.
Oh! While cleaning the bathroom I got a text from the jeweler that my pretties were in and ready to be brought home. So I dropped everything and ran to get them. I love them! I bought a new watch and a blue leather cuff to wear it. I had dropped off my old Movado watch for a battery, but it wasn't working, so she was going to replace the movement for me. However, once she gave it a good cleaning it started running and at the moment, it is running fine. It's a watch I found back in 1990 when I was waitressing. No one came back looking for it so I kept it. I actually hadn't worn it in about 30 yrs though, so it's just been sitting in my jewelry box. But I'm going to make it my every day watch and save my new pretty one for when I go places. Now, I just need to go places. lmao I also picked a cuff for the Movado. A brown one. I don't like ladies wristbands. I think they look weird on my wrist. I also picked up a set of dragonfly earrings and I special ordered a bee (because mom loved bees) and a pipe wrench (dad was a Master Pipefitter) with fish hooks instead of posts and I'll wear them as a set. I love them! And now Anna wants a set, so maybe for Christmas.
Today I plan to do...not much at all. I have a book I need to read so I want to sit and enjoy that.

That Kyle is a hard worker and good to the family. I didn't mind the rain because we needed it. Now the yard needs mowing but luckily this week looks mostly dry and not too hot. I really have to get in my warm season crops this week with the cool season ones finishing up.
