Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front
Sunday ~ Got the Kubota out and played in the driveway, smoothing it out and creating a rain barrier in case of precipitation. Which we did not get this week, but is looking like we'll have plenty this coming week.
Monday ~ Trip and I took the garbage can and the recycling cans up to the road. That's basically all we did today. I did work on my blog a bit and sifted through emails.
Tuesday ~ The contractor's guys came and put in the concrete pad for the new heat pump. The wasband came to give me my half of the income tax refund and he brought some boxes for his stuff.
Wednesday ~ The insulation guy was by while Trip and I were getting groceries. He measured for insulation. Hence his name, the insulation guy. LOL Just kidding. His name is Jason. Which is also the name of the wood burning stove guy who came by with the contractor around 3:45 to go over where the stove is going. Anna picked up her CPAP machine and slept in the living room for the night. I need to clear an area in my room next to the rollaway she's using.
Thursday ~ Kyle took the day off. Met with the contractor and the electrician in the morning and we spent about an hour going over where to put outlets and lights and internet cable. They will get started next week. Picked up the grandkiddos around 3:00ish for a sleepover. We had popcorn chicken for dinner and let me tell you, most of those pieces were mutant-big. Popcorn sized my big fat ass. Anna and I cleared out the area next to the rollaway for her CPAP machine. Wow. I really do hate to dust. LOL I have a tall jewelry box with lots of drawers that was there, but we moved it next to the wasband's side of the bed since I don't use it. I boxed up all the other years and years worth of detritus that was next to it. Mostly stacks and stacks of birthday/holiday cards. I'll sort through it another day. I could pitch them all, but I think I'll keep any with pretty pictures for possible craft projects. So, sorting it is.
Friday ~ Anna and Kyle have today off. Anna, Trip, and I took the grandkiddos to the Greensboro Science Center and Kyle had the house to himself. It was a really nice day. It did get up to about 80ºF, but had a nice breeze for the outside stuff. Everyone said they had fun though. I think they enjoyed the scariest exhibit of all, the gift shop, the most though because I let them pick 3 things to buy. lol Brought them back to the house for a bit before getting them McD's and dropping them off at their other grandma's. Trip and I picked up Chinese for dinner since I was too exhausted to cook. My right heel was killing me. Ouch.
Saturday ~ Did the cleaning then Anna and I went to the Greensboro protest. We were very late and there weren't many people left, so we did a couple of laps around the block, beeping the horn and Anna holding up our signs. We really did not plan that well. My procrastination worked against us and Anna is not any better. We promise to do better next time. I did a ton of laundry, worked a little bit in her room, and worked on this post.
Today I'm not sure. I'll either work some more on Anna's room or start with the boys' computer area. I'd like to have some time to myself at some point.
Construction News: The HVAC guys are coming out tomorrow to set up the new unit. I'm not sure if that means we'll have A/C or not. The unit is bigger to accommodate the new additions (and larger square footage), so I'm unsure if they can run it with the current sqft. And the additions are not ready to be enclosed yet. There are still several steps and inspections before that can happen. In any case, I think they are also going to run the ductwork and cut the rough openings for the vents because that's one of the things that need an inspection. As well as electrical and they should be out this week, too. Then inspection for that. Insulation is also on the plan, I think. Because that's yet another inspection. Once all of that passes then it'll be on to drywall and all the finishing stuff. The cabinet guy really needs to get out here this week because it won't be long before his stuff will need doing. There's also the windows and patio door coming soon and sometime in all of this the walls will need to be bust through. Which means I really need to get my ass moving on boxing everything up. Did I mention my procrastination problem earlier? Yeah.
Touching Nature: Cool then it started heating up by Friday. Seriously, could we just have a nice long string of days (like a month's worth) in the 70s? Why is that too much to ask? Probably because we still don't have any A/C.
Book News: Still not much going on here. Maybe some day...
Don't Touch That Dial!: Finished seasons 1 & 2 of The Mandalorian and was starting 3 when Trip walked in and said, "Is that Season 3?" Me: Yes, but it doesn't look familiar. Trip: That's because we haven't seen it yet. Me: O.O So what I was actually remembering was The Book of Boba Fett and not season 3 of The Mandalorian. So now I'm rewatching The Book of Boba Fett can watch season 3 together. lol
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.
Randomness: A meal just in time for Easter.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes when you rush and believe you're doing a good thing, it backfires spectacularly. It's better to stop and think first. Is it an urgent situation? Then I like to remember one of my favorite book character's expressions: Hurry carefully. ~ Credit to Scott Bell creator of Abel Yeager.

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI might hate dusting more than you. It just seems like it is back the very next day! I would also like a month of 70s. We do get more of the spring / fall weather like that here than I did in MN but as of late the temperatures are going more extreme here. I love hearing about the construction!

I don't know....I really really hate dusting because it's just so futile. lol Maybe when the carpet is gone it'll be a bit better. Yeah the temp swings have been wild this Spring. But I should A/C today!
DeleteDusting when we have a walking shead machine of a dog is a really pain in the butt. Thanks for getting out there and protesting!
ReplyDeleteI know right?! 3 dogs and 3 cats here do not help keep the dust bunnies away. lol We'll do better at the next protest.
