Hello and Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone had a stomach filling day.

Here's a picture from my unexpected beach trip last weekend.
My kids are awesome!

On the Home Front:  Welcome to the last month of 2024. I can't wait for this shitty year to be over.

Ok. What the hell did I do this week? Well, I didn't have to get up to take Kyle to work because he took the week (well, Mon-Weds since he already had Thurs & Fri) off. Yay! I finished up the Christmas shopping including stocking shit. I do need to get the furries some treats to put in their treat tin and I'm waiting for some packages to trickle in from Amazon, but I'm basically done. I do need to do the wrapping now though. I will endeavor to start on that asap so I'm not waiting until the last minute like I do every year.

We had a good Thanksgiving. Honestly, it's like any other day of the year for me. We did not go to Ohio one last time. I didn't feel up to it and it costs a lot to board the furries. Friday morning Anna and I moved a bunch of stuff around so we could fit the Christmas tree in it's spot for the last time and the boys did the outside Christmas decorations then we picked up the grandkiddos for a sleep over. Once it got dark we went to a lot to pick out a tree and while it was chilly, they had fun running around the trees. I think Anna, Trip, and Kyle had fun, too. lol We got the tree inside, in the stand, trimmed, and watered.

Saturday, after I fixed everyone breakfast, I started my usual Saturday cleaning while Anna and Trip played with the grandkiddos. After I took them to their mawmaw's in the afternoon, I started some laundry then got all the Christmas decorations out of the closet, but decided to do it all Sunday. I was pooped.

Today we'll finish the decorations inside. Lights first then everything else. This will be the last year for the fireplace and it's chilly enough we had a fire Friday night and last night. I'm not sure we even used it last year. I have a guy coming to give me an estimate to remove a few trees including the big oak out back that will be in the way of the new addition. Big changes coming next year and we're inching closer to the closing of the farm and then the start of a new phase of our lives. It's both depressing and exciting.

Touching Nature: We got a bit of rain and it's been a tad windy. I engaged in Battle IX of Leafageddon and it was clear for about a day. Then more wind brought the Leafy Horde stragglers down. I have yet to do a final battle. It has gotten cold at night!

Book News: I got a little depressed and did some freebie shopping. A LOT of freebie shopping. And picked up some audios that weren't free, but were deeply discounted.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  CSI

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:  Wow. So accurate!
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Things take time. This is a tough one to remember when you are an impatient person. Like me.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. The leaves finally fell on the tree in the front yard and I blew them to the curb for suck up. I finished my 2nd BBNYA read and have one more to read this week. I'll start it Tuesday after HoHoHoRAT ends tomorrow. Great you had a nice beach trip. Chirp does have excellent audio bundles!

  2. How nice to have an unexpected beach trip! What does BBNYA stand for? Hattie Glover’s Millinery sounds like a good book.
